Reputed DL Fast-Track MSc (under 12-18 months)

Hi all

I am looking for a reputed University Msc in management (but not general management) (Actually i cant decide the subject i want to study!, so give all options plz!)

I need to complete it in under a year or 1.5 years (like Northeastern Uni), but i dont like any of the available options, I prefer something specific like Real Estate Finance or Construction Management or anything specific / new etc..

My background: MBA (finance), yeah u guys may be thinking y i need to do an MSc after MBA, but i have my reasons!

I dont want to do Doctorate and also pursuing few online certificates for professional dev... but i need any PGDIP / Msc in a unique subject to add to my credentials..

In short Reputed DL Msc as short as possible preferably without thesis option (but thats ok)

What level of respect for the school are you looking for? Does it need to be the best of the best, or is solid regional accreditation alone acceptable? The price tag between good online schools varies greatly and so does the time to complete.

Masters degree in commercial aviation at Delta State University. It is offered by the College of Business and has an emphasis in "aviation management". They offer in state tuition for the DL program and it takes about 18 months to complete with 10 courses and no thesis. Cost about $7000.

Is something like that only useful for pilots? Would it be useful for ground crew as well?

With that said, one should probably have an aviation background of some type. There are many in aviation management and operations that are not pilots! In my opinion, pilots usually do poorly in aviation management positions.

Just out of curiosity, how are the job prospects in that industry nowadays?

 

In the civilian sector, passenger airlines are in utter chaos! Cargo industry doing very well! The government sector should have many opportunities in aviation soon especially with retirements in the FAA looming over the next few years. I just mentioned it because the OP desires a unique business specialty masters degree in addition to his MBA. In addition, the aviation degree studies human factors that lead to errors in the industry. As a side note, this is applicable to the healthcare industry as wel as other industries since many of the same "human factor issues" crossover ex: problems with communication, standardization, use of checklists (in the operating room, cockpit, manufacturing setting), situational awareness, fatigue, safety programs, etc.

Yes I am looking for best of the best or atleast top 70 unis as per the ranking... I am Ok with non-US (but top ranking) universities...

Found a program - MSc Business Analysis & Consulting (Distance) - University of Strathclyde please have a look... what i dont like about it is that its pretty similar to what i have studied (MBA), pretty general and its long... nice things are there are options in the same prog for certificate / diploma / degree !

I am looking for a similar program, something that can ADD to my MBA and related to BUSINESS..... so rural / public admin etc is out of the way

Strathclyde is a good school, but you have to make sure how much "distance learning" it really offers. I was once interested in on of their Master (research methodology). Even so it was described as "distance learning" it would have required 4 trips in person, each 3-4 days, to Strathclyde (plus the odd feeling, that "normally" each moth a few attendance days were required but those would be waved for dl students... looks quite as a disadvantage to me for dl students).
Also, if you want to go into consulting, I would argue that some highly specialized degree (e.g. this airline industry master or one in islamic banking etc) might give you a more interesting profile than just some "general" consulting degree.
