I guess I'll just stick to IT, it'll give me a broad computer degree and that's probably going to impress the banks were I live (small town banks gotta love em)

Isnt it funny how things work out. I just applied to WGU and received an email from UMASS -online division.

I had previously applied there a year ago but my mom got sick so I was taking care of her and working at the same time, didnt have time for UMASS. Well they emailed me asking if I still was interested in the program. They have an Associates of IT so now I'm thinking of going there.

UMass is a good school. In addition to the A.S. and B.S. in IT, they also offer a second bachelors in IT (for people who have completed a bachelors in another subject). Perhaps you could finish up a BA in Liberal Studies via Excelsior College (for very little $$) and then pursue your BS in IT through UMass (only 9 classes are required for the 2nd B.S. in IT).

Umass never contacted me back :( which is strange. I was contacted however by Baker College (a college I had been interested in and at one time sent my college transcripts to) they would like me to attend, to receive my associate's degree.

I have thought about it. WGU contacted me to let me know I passed their assessment and am ready to start, on my start date but Im starting to worry if I've made the best decision. What do you guys think? WGU, get 60 credits then switch to a big 3, get my associates and continue for batchelors. Or attend Baker get associates and then continue on with WGU for batchelors? I love that WGU gives certifications also.

IMHO, having never attended it, WGU seems like a good school. As you've mentioned, you do get certs as part of the program.

However, I hate to keep harping on this point, but do you know whether or not the big three will accept WGU's credits? If not, your whole plan will collapse and/or you'll be doing your whole BSc at WGU. So, you should check that first.

All the Big 3 school accept credits from WGU sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Baker college has put me through the ringer. They want me to take developmental courses with Reading/Writing/English/Math

Math I understand but I have taken college level English, Reading, and Writing and all passed with a B or higher. It just frustrates me.

Great news, sounds like your plan will work! :) And good to know for future WGU students too.
