They are offering online courses and the fee is less than $800 for 3 credit. Anyone has taken those courses. Any experience ?

As of last year, the custom platform they used was really outdated - and not only technically.

For example, there'd be a discussion forum where you posted your replies, and in each discussion thread there would literally be hundreds of responses because they hadn't been cleared out in years of running the course.

The instructors are the same adjuncts you'd find anywhere in the country. I don't think they're of any higher quality than any other RA program.

One plus would be the price, but when you consider the instructional delivery leans more toward "independent study" than what would be considered "online" at most other schools, it doesn't compare as favorably to other independent study providers.

In my opinion the only real benefit here is the ability to call the courses Berkeley equivalent. For a lot of the subjects it would probably be impossible to find another online course from a peer or better ranked institution.

I took a course sometime back, as Vincey37 points out, the course delivery platform is really ancient. Not very user friendly and most of the courses requires proctors which I find quite troublesome.

Also the courses are not transferable to UC Berkeley or any other UC system school. Other schools also may not accept it.
