Hello! I just joined the forum and would like to know if anyone can direct me to some information on testing for credits, in the fashion merchandising field. I have attended 2 schools to pursue this degree and would like to get my associates degree at least. Or any other helpful information that can be provided to a new user, I would be grateful. Thanks!!!
If a nationally accredtied (DETC) degree is acceptable for your purposes (and you understand the difference (perceived, at least) between NA & RA degrees) you might want to consider this program: McKinley College Associate of Applied Science in Fashion Merchandising http://www.mckinleycollege.edu/fashion.htm It seems extremely cheap ... if you took all the courses through their school, the total cost for the degree would be $5,865. They note in their FAQ that they will accept some transfer credit but are vague about how much and so on, so you may want to contact them for details. I really know nothing about this school other than what I've noted above, so they may be good or bad, but it looks like they may fit your needs. There may also be regionally accredited online programs in fashion marketing. Such a program would probably have more utility (and if you ended up wanting to do a bachelors or masters later it would make it easier to get into those programs) but likely would be much more expensive than the one listed above. HTH!
What courses and credit hours have you completed to this point? Once we know this information it will be easier and more productive when offering suggestions.
Thanks for that much needed information. I checked the website and it may be a wonderful, low cost option. Looking forward to seeing what happens...
Emzee, Thanks for that much needed information. I checked the website and it may be a wonderful, low cost option. Looking forward to seeing what happens...I have completed some college writing courses, as well as, computer. I really need to check on one transcript to double check, however, I know I have a lot of work to do still!
Academy of Art University has both a BFA and MFA in Fashion with both programs having a Merchandising concentration.
