    Okay guys, I'm back once again! I posted here not too long ago asking about the quickest way to get 9 credits, don't care what they are, just need 9 credits! The reason for that is I was looking into enlisting, and I am now in the process of enlisting. I ended up just settling for the CC I was at for the extra 9 credits, due to their asinine policy on CLEP & DANTES. Still fighting with them on my financial aid though. Worthless I tell you. Anyways.

    Once this semester ends in May, I'll be "eligible" for enlisted service. I'm getting all my paperwork together now, but we're going to go ahead and get the contract ready after the obligatory trip to MEPS. I'll be contracted the same way a HS senior is, on condition of graduation (or in this case, completion of 9 credits). I'll be continuing my degree on AD to pursue a commission at a later date. I plan to take full advantage of the free CLEP/DANTES testing as well as 100% Tuition Assistance.

    I'm not completely sure on my major, I was looking into applying for a commissioning scholarship through AFROTC, but living on the civilian economy with no pay would be.... well... bad. To stay on AD and receive pay while going to college requires a major on their list (Foreign Languages, Engineering, etc) none of which are really my cup of tea. So I'm leaning more towards completing the degree and applying for OTS. That way I can choose any major I want and still get paid! :) Still interested in Business & Finance, so I'll probably stick with that major unless something changes. Planning on doing all my GenEd first anyways.

    I was wanting to know if anyone could recommend a college/university that is "enlisted friendly" (ie: under $250/cr, 100% online). Since TA caps out at $4,500 a year ($250/cr = 6 classes), the cheaper the better. Although I don't know that I'll be able to take a full 10 classes a year, I'd like the option. :) That would require tuition at $150/cr though. Non-Proctored exams would be a plus, or an institution that would allow an on-base proctor. So to sum it up...

    TL;DR
    * Bachelor in Finance
    * Enlisted/Military Friendly
    * Tuition under $250 per hour
    * 100% Online, NO required campus visits or residencies.

    Thanks for any suggestions, I know a few people on here are prior-AD so I know the opportunity is out there.... :)

    Take a look at this link.

    Additionally, once you are actually in, you will have access to a list of schools through a program called AU-ABC that will make it a relatively easy process to go from a CCAF associate's degree to a bachelor's degree.

    I did my BS through Embry-Riddle. My wife did her BA through UMUC. Both can be considered miitary friendly.

    TEKMAN Semper Fi!

    You should consider Hawaii Pacific University.

    "Lower division: $148; Upper Division: $210"

    The first 2 years are more than enough to take 10 courses per year.

    KYARB,
    As a prior-enlisted, now officer, I would recommend you take advantage of a decent brick/motar school with a distance learning option. Furthermore, if your interested in business/finance I would recommend you pursue a direct commission via the Medical Service Corps (MSC) (Hospital Administration, Finance, Logistics, Patient Adminisrtation, etc....) I'm an MSC and enjoy it.

    The requirement is a business degree....we can get into specifics later. If you get your B.S. and Master's while your enlisted like I did, then you can get constructive service credit and commission as a 1LT. Let me know if you have any questions.

    Airtorn, thank you very much for the link! :)

    Will give it a look :)

    Dono,

    I hadn't even considered direct commission, I was actually looking at ASCP/SOAR/POC-ERP and the like, as well as just finishing it and applying to OTS... Which would be a gamble, but I don't like the idea of living on the civilian economy with no income!

    I doubt I'll complete my Master's while enlisted, but it's definitely going to have to be done if I plan on getting promoted after making officer... lol :) Additionally, I'm going to try and commission before my first term is up. Just a little goal I set for myself. :) Since TA is capped at $4500, I'll definitely be doing CLEPs first, lol.

    Not sure what I would like to do on the officer side, hell, I'm not REAL sure what I want to do on the enlisted side. Never even thought about anything medical related though... I'll look into it. :)

    Just know that you only need a B.S. You don't have to have a Masters. Also, with the MSC commission you have some control as to what you'll be doing....with a Line commission...well, I'm sure you know...the needs of the Air Force and yada yada yada....

    If you need any guidance or want more information let me know.
