Has anyone taken these classes recently?
Do the cd's contain all course information, assessments, exams?
What is involved in completing the courses?
Does anyone have any experience with getting these added to the a BA in CJ at TESC?

I have worked out that the total cost will be $1020.00 to purchase and get all the courses accredited. That will be the total price for 17 credits in CJ.

Thank you for any help. I am glad I found this forum there is a lot of valuable information here, and very knowledgeable people.

I took all these course a few years ago when the prices were far cheaper. Everything is on the CD-ROM. The course on each disk is a multimedia course that consists of a speaker, film clips, and screens to read. Sample questions, that are not counted in the final grade, are throughout. At the end of the course you take a mulitiple choice test and the results are sent over the Internet to TheBackup. Courses are not hard, mostly enjoyable, but you do have to put the time in to finish. Each CD-ROM course did have a unique password assigned to me as a student, and sometimes TheBackup would send the wrong password and I would have to contact them again. I later got the college credit after finishing them all the courses and had the 17 hours transfered to Excelsior.

Thank you sir, for the reply.

When you had them transferred to EC did they accept it towards requirements for a degree in CJ? If not what did they apply it to? Thanks again for the reply

They were listed as "applied professional" credits. I had most credits needed in the area of criminal justice for my degree when they listed them on the transcript, so I don't really know how else they might have applied them towards the degree.

It would be interesting to hear what other schools accept these training programs.

The backup site says the have a relationship with North Idaho College, where you will be awarded 17 credits, however NIC doesn't seem to offer distance learning, so are they willing to just provide you a transcript for these credits for some administrative fee?

Hmm under other products is a Blackwater mug insulator.... I thought that X logo looked familiar.

One of the new names blackwater usa is using is the X logo. After a few things happened in IRAQ they changed the name.

    It still looks respectable.

It does say that NIC does award the credit for a fee of $25 plus $10 per credit from what I understand.

My daughter is now working on her master's degree but my son is working on his B.A. This sounds interesting but could someone lead me through just what is involved, who gives RA credit courses for it, and about how much time (roughly) is involved. We are Canadian. Does that cause any problems. It will be applied to COSC.

    Thanks,

    Sidney
