    Mr(s). GameTech,
I really appreciate your kindness in giving me advice and information.
The reasons (I haven't told you yet) why I like (a bit) Apollos University are:
    1. I know some teacher/professors taking AU's PhD programs in Saigon. It seems they will enjoy higher salary and brighter future after finishing their couses I guess (only).
    2. There are some AU representatives who are now rectors of recognized institutes (e.g, http://vanhoadulich.edu.vn/html/tsgiangdaytienganh.htm# , pls press Translate button to see so-so translation) in Vietnam.
    3. The courses are 100% online. SA (such as UNISA) and many other unis asks students to be present several times. That makes the total cost more or less doubled (not including time spending).
    4. Many managerial positions in AU belongs to overseas Vietnamese professors. I mean they are trying to contribute their energy to development of Vietnam (not [only] money). I have a chance to expect and believe them.
Is it a good chance for me to take?
    Tks,

    Mr. Long,

I am pretty sure there are several things happen in Saigon that I don't know.

Is it a good chance for me to take?

    1. I know some teacher/professors taking AU's PhD programs in Saigon. It seems they will enjoy higher salary and brighter future after finishing their couses I guess (only).

I do not know if the Vietnamese higher education system recognizes PhD degree from unaccredited distance schools (I believe it doesn't). If I am right, then how can those people could get chances for promotion after they earn unaccredited degree?
You should be aware that DETC does not accredit PhD degree, only professional degree i.e., DBA.
SA (such as UNISA) and many other unis asks students to be present several times. That makes the total cost more or less doubled (not including time spending).

I don't think we can compare SA UNISA with California AU. US DOE recognizes the PhD degree from UNISA equivalence to the US accredited PhD., while it is illegal if people use the AU degree outside the state of CA. So quality and cost are always somethings related.

That are all i can think of.

Which major were you looking for in California Intercontinental University's DBA? If it was the DBA in Entrepreneurship, Walden University offers an RA DBA in Entrepreneurship and Regent University offers an RA PhD in Organizational Leadership with concentration in Entrepreneurial Leadership.

    1. I talked to my dean about faculty taking AU' PhD coursce yesterday and he told me that those professors would not be able used their unaccredited degrees. Our department of education and training has sents warning documents on this matter to our university. So I will forget AU.
    2. If I go for my Doctorates with state-owned universities such as Hochiminh Open University, Open University Malaysia, IGNOU... Are degrees from these institutions considered as RA degrees BY AMERICAN UNIVERSITIES (for teaching online)?
    Tks,

I have a strong believe that non of the degree from those schools (Except IGOU) are transferable or acceptable from the U.S. RA.

The universities I mentioned are very legitimate and they do the same functions. Why are not on the same leve of acceptance? Why is IGNOU accepted (an opportunity) while the other two unis are not?

    1. Can you send me the link that HCMCOU offers doctoral degree? I did not know they were authorized to offer PhD level from the Vietnamese department of education.

    2. I do not believe Open University Malaysia's PhD programs are accredited by LAN/MQA. According to information from their website only diploma, bachelor and master level are accredited. I also reviewed their PhD program's requirements and did not see the equivalence to American RA.

This is just my opinion. Hope there is someone who has been in the loop can explain more detail about the school.

    Le.
