Hello, I am working on Ph D in Psych at Walden and I was wondering if it would be hard for me to find jobs when I get out . Also if it is .. what is a school I can transfer too. That has a lot of online work.
No offense, but perhaps you should have thought of this before commencing with a doctorate program. Of course, it could be that you started the doctorate program with the sole purpose of "personal enrichment" and only now are you considering the financial impact of school loans, career implications, etc. One possibility for you is to look for online (or CC or Junior College) adjunct work. Another option upon completion of your program, is to move to West Virginia (assuming that you don't live there already) and work under a licensed Psychologist for 2 years (1 year if your PhD from Walden includes a pre-doctoral internship). After this point, you can take the oral exam, which upon passing would allow you to work independently as a licensed psychologist in the state. Best of luck.
I did not intend for the above post to sound mean spirited (my apologies if it came across that way). Anyway, there are certainly opportunities out there for someone with a regionally accredited doctorate in psychology. As I mentioned, you could land a job as an adjunct instructor (online or on-campus), and there are certain states (e.g. West Virginia) which allow one to become a psychologist with a doctorate from a non-APA school. Good luck.
When I went to Walden I went with the notion of transferring to Liberty. But Liberty just has a Counseling PhD. I found out that that is not that useful. I think I am going to go to Fielding graduate. But I do not know . I maybe even look for something in WV.
Here is a listing of psychologists licensed by the State of California and the schools they graduated from. The list includes Argosy, California Coast University, Capella, Fielding, and Nova SE. I do not see Walden or Liberty on the list. http://www.psychboard.ca.gov/exams/numofgrads.pdf
