    Just another update:

    1. I have yet to start undertaking any actual course with the University of Canberra but will start soon as I finished my enrolment for S2 this year, chose course 7733 Marketing Communication Practice G and 7734 Public Relations Strategy G.

    2. The entire process has been quite smooth so far. My admission application was processed within a few working days and received the offer letter (via email, in PDF format) roughly 2.5 weeks after my letter was thrown into the street post box. The offer letter can be a little confusing as I think they used the standard template for all international student offer letters, so there was a huge section about visa/OSHC (overseas student health cover) insurance etc. which were completely irrelevant to online program students. However, I have to say that the other admin. support had been pretty good - email account was up the same day I received my offer letter and request for alias uni email name was sorted out in roughly 2 working days.

    3. Course coordinators have been reasonably responsive so far.

    Regards.

    Dear Ansett,

As a graduate with an MBA from UNE I can only sing its praises, but you have stated:

"but the responses I received from a number of universities seem to suggest that a lot of university staff have conflicting information when it comes to ENTIRELY online/DL program for overseas students".

Well yes, you are correct if you get the wrong individual as I found out when applying to UNE. The first guy told me that I was too late to enrol and came up with a lot of stuff. I rang back later and the woman erolled me on the spot without a qualm. I guess this is what happens all over the world.

I understand that GSB MBA and some MComm degrees have marketing majors etc.

You will find that both Southern Cross university and UNE are very generous with advanced standing. On the basis that you have substantial exemption the total cost of an Oz degree may be reduced.

You might see if your two degrees provide you with the advanced standing especially if they relate to marketing etc.

    cheers
    J.D.
