It might not be on the main LSU page. Look at http://www.is.lsu.edu/default.asp .

The price is shown when you look at the description of the course. Current price is $250 for a 3 credit course (about $83 a credit.)

I took an intermediate accounting course at LSU and let me tell you, it is SO BORING! I felt so lonley throughout the course plus you don't get a chance to ask your Prof any questions. You are all on your own....So it is not always about cheap prices per credit hour, I would rather pay some more and take a course offered through a regular semester because you get the advantage of interacting with your Professor and colleagues!

    USDA graduate school

I wonder if any of the accounting courses offered through the USDA graduate school would count towards the CPA education requirements.

Yes, you are right:)! I got the information on the price.

This is ultra-cheap. But Im afraid it cannot be taken out of state as you need to appear in one of the testing centres mentioned on the webpage.

    Sugarfly,

You don't have to take the exam at an approved testing center if you are an overseas student. You can nominate a proctor and seek for their approval.

You can arrange for a local proctor. It could be a librarian of your local library. That is a very common practice.

    Hi,

I was goin through the LSU`s homepage and its like for the accounting course ACCT2001 no credit will be given. And to get into the ACCT3001 you need to complete the ACCT2001 course.

That is, we will pay for 8 accounting courses from which we will get credits for only 5 courses. Am I right?!

I want to do this cpa in delaware, but seem unable to find a good associate degree or something equivalent. After doing some google search:

    http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=online+cpa+program+delaware&meta=&aq=o&oq=

I came up with the follwing programs:

    http://www.clarion.edu/45349/

You will take eight accounting courses (24 credits)
    The courses include:

    Financial Accounting (ACTG 251)
    Managerial Accounting (ACTG 252)
    Intermediate Accounting (ACTG 350)
    Accounting for Equities (ACTG 351)
    Cost Accounting (ACTG 352)
    Federal Taxation (ACTG 353)
    Auditing (ACTG 354)
    Accounting Problems (ACTG 451)
These eight courses, along with any four-year college degree, will make you eligible to sit for the CPA exam in Pennsylvania

Would this also allow me to sit in delaware?

What is the cost for somebody outside the usa? Here is the page:

    http://www.clarion.edu/50054/#Non-PA%20Undergraduate%20&%20International%20Undergraduate%20Summer%20Session

    Or this program:

    http://delval.edu/cms/index.php/delval/departments_sn/continuing/C1614/

Is from delaware, but the price is very steep: 30 credits at 453 dollares per credit is around 13000 dollars, a privew way above budget and I can do the english acca program for half the price.

HERE ARE THE REQUIREMENTS AGAIN FOR DELAWARE:

    http://www.beckercpa.com/delaware/index.cfm

sO I NEED 21 HOURS OF 21 semester hours of accounting, auditing or federal taxation. sO CAN SOMEBODY HELP ME FIND A SUIOTABLE PROGRAM:

    It needs to be online

I need to be able to take the exams online preferably

I have a time fame of 12 to 16 months in mind

Well, if you are starting the Associates degree from scratch, I would suggest the following route:

An Associates degree requires 60 credit hours or 20 courses.
You can complete the following SIX courses through straighterline and have them transferred to Fort Hays State Univeristy:

    1- English I
    2- College Algebra
    3- Accounting I
    4- Accounting II
    5- Microeconomics
    6- Macroeconomics

If you take the above six courses through straighterline, they will cost you $99 per course. So for six courses the cost would be $594 plus $30 applcation fee for having them transferred to Fort Hays State University.
Here is the link to straighterline:
    http://www.straighterline.com/about/partners/partner-college-details.cfm

After completing the above courses, you can then apply for the Associates degree in Accounting at New Mexico Junior college where you will need to complete an additional 14 courses. If taking them part time or three courses per semester, they should cost you about $241/course for a total cost of $3,374 for 1 courses.

At this point, you will only have three upper courses left to meet the Delaware CPA requirements. These courses are:
    1- Cost Accounting
    2- Auditing
    3- Federal Taxation.
The only two schools I know of that can let you take the exams online are either Peru State College at $506/course or $1,518 for all three OR Eastern Oregon Universiy at $858/course or $2,574 forall three course. I would recommend Peru State College if you have a limited budget.

Now after completing all of the above stages, your total cost at the end would be as follows:

    6 courses (Straighterline-Fort Hays State University ) for $594 + $30 = $624.
14 courses (New Mexico Junior College) for $3,374.
3 more upper leve courses for $1,518.

    Total cost: $5,516.

And of course don't forget to add the CPA preparation materials and exam costs which could cost you anywhere between $3,500 for the preparation materials and $1,000 exam costs plus air tickets from Amsterdam and accomodation in the US.

    Hope that helps.

    Good Luck

Great posts. If I ever do a CPA, this would probably be the route I would take.

The LSU pages state the fees and whether the course is not for credit. You may have to punch a few links but all the information is there.
