    Dear Board members,
After 25 years in the psych field I have decided that its time for a significant career change.I am interested in completing either a UK LLB or a US JD IN THE MOST ACCELERATED FORMAT POSSIBLE.distance learning would be great or even in an intensive modular form.Although I am prepared to relocate , go back to school for a few very quick years and practice locally. I understand the US has a number of accelerated programs and the UK also has accelerated programs for prior degree holders. All recommended options greatly appreciated

I would urge you to use the search feature and simply use LLB as the criteria, there are several threads which identify US and UK based DL schools.

In the US, a traditional ABA-accredited JD degree normally takes 3 calendar years. Some schools offer accelerated JD programs that fit the standard curriculum into only 2.5 or 2 calendar years. These accelerated programs typically include study over the summers.

All ABA-accredited schools, whether accelerated or not, require residency. ABA does not accredit distance-learning law schools.

The State of California recognizes non-ABA, distance-learning law schools (although without ABA accreditation, JD degrees from one of these schools have limited value outside of California). However, I believe the curriculum at these schools takes 4 years (as per California regulation). So the California distance law schools are "delayed", not accelerated, relative to traditional law schools.

Some California distance schools offer shorter "Executive JD" programs. However, these are non-professional degrees, and they do not qualify graduates for the California bar exam.

U of London External seems like a good LLB program. You can do it through Graduate Entry Route. I think that takes 2 years.
