I am looking for the right word or term to describe this situation. Someone suggested the word “allude” or “evasive.” I need your opinion. John had a favor glass. Jane accidentally broke it. John knew Jane broke it, but Jane did not know that John knew she broke it. John shouted, “Who broke my glass” to see Jane would honestly response. What is the proper term at the moment John shouted?
Are you looking for a term that describes why or what John did? Or, are you looking for a term that describes Jane's action? In the former case, I would suggest that John was baiting Jane. For the latter, I would say that Jane was being secretive. Tracy<><
Jane loves to eat candies. John tells a boy not to eat candies, because it is bad for his teeth while Jane is next to John. (John indirectly telling Jane not to eat candies). What John is doing? What the word for this? Bait is the proper term?
