I'm having trouble finding an RA school that offers an MBA in Healthcare, but will also fit the military TA cap of $250/hour. Does anyone have any suggestions?
That's not easy. The University of South Dakota is AACSB accredited and has an MBA with a Health Services Administration specialization with a tuition rate of $290.65/semester-hour. Close enough? http://www.usd.edu/business/mba/online.cfm -=Steve=-
You may need to let go of the healthcare specialization if you want to get in under your cap. Specializations cost money.
It doesn't necessarily have to be right at $250/hour. The SD option at $290/hour looks great, and I'll contact them this week for more information. Are there any other schools out there? I also assume AACSB accreditation is a regional one?
For New York State residents, the tuition rates for the MBA programs at SUNYIT are around the $300/credit range. They are also now AACSB accredited.
Columbia Southern has an MBA program in Healthcare Administration that fits your price range. I currently work as a CIO for a medical practice and originally intended to puruse my MBA in HA but have since switched to PA. Althought not AACSB certified, I did contact http://www.ache.org who told me that that program was accepted in the healthcare community. It was a pretty vague statement but it was enough for me to choose CSU. As most people will tell you, it depends on the area you live if DETC / RA or AACSB / not AACSB will hinder your ability to find a position. If you can find a AACSB school that you are comfortable with that fits your price range I would go for it, you never know when you may leave the healthcare industry and move into finance or some other specialty. Edit- I apologize, I just saw the RA in your original post. Unfortunately CSU is not RA.
USD is regionally accredited, but their also having AACSB means they've gone beyond that. If you think you might ever want to teach business courses down the road, it's an accreditation you really might want your school to have. Otherwise, it's probably not that big a deal. -=Steve=-
