    Hi

I have only 90 credits and short of 60 credits to get the CPA License from NJ.(150 Hour Requirement). I'm searching Regionally Accredited online university to complete 60 credits in Taxation and Accounting. Please let me know.

    Thanks

You don't need 60 credits in tax and accounting. Worst case(http://www.nasba.org/nasbaweb/NASBAWeb.nsf/wpecer?openform&stateabbrev=NJ):

LSU should have everything you need, cheap: http://is.lsu.edu/courselist.asp?cat=Accounting&nid=102&pg=

Thank You for your reply. I need one course of financial accounting plus 57 credits of any subjects. However, I would like to complete the courses in accounting and taxation. I just browsed LSU site. I'm not able to locate any two year online courses which will suffice my credit requriements.

    Thanks

I do not know where you are in NJ. If you are in South Jersey, please look into PA requirements. Currently, PA needs 24 credits in Accountin, Finance, taxation, Law & Auditing. these requirements will rise to 36 credits in 2012.

I would suggest Delaware. They only need an Associate degree and does not have any residency requirement. Do check them out. They need 21 semester hours in accounting, but does not support correspondence programs or CLEP.

I'm not familiar with CPA licensing specifically. However, if you live and work in the State of New Jersey, and plan to serve clients in the State of New Jersey, then I would imagine that you need a CPA license from the State of New Jersey. In fact, it may be illegal to use the title of "CPA" in New Jersey, unless you hold a valid NJ license or indicate explicitly that your CPA was issued by some other state.

A CPA license from a neighboring state, such as PA or DE, may offer some benefits. But it probably won't allow you to practice professionally as a CPA in NJ, unless you can leverage it to get a NJ license by reciprocity. State professional licenses -- unlike degrees -- typically do not "travel" automatically from state to state.
