    Does anyone know if the American Literature CLEP will count as the Survey of Literature requirement? Will the British Literature CLEP count as the nonwestern requirement?

    A. Required Courses 12
    * Survey of Literature I & II (6)
    * Analysis and Interpretation of Literature (3)
    * Nonwestern Literature (3)

    If anyone out there has completed this degree, would you tell me how you fulfilled the English specific requirements?

    Could anyone confirm that the below information is true?

    All of the requirements can be met with CLEP exams.*
    Survey of Lit I & II (American Literature CLEP for 6 credits- use idiot's guide)
    Analysis and Interp. Lit (A & L CLEP 6 credits, a 3 credit surplus)
    NonWestern Lit (Brit Lit CLEP 6 credits, a 3 credit surplus)

    Yes, I know that Great Britain is part of the West. I am asking someone that has first-hand knowledge to confirm something that I was told. It doesn't make sense to me, but neither does 27 FEMA credits toward a B.A. in English.

    Actually the FEMA credits would work if used as electives. In this instance I don't have any direct knowledge of your question but logically I can't see that Brit Lit would fit the requirement. But, I recommend you ask the school directly for the best answer.

    Only part of Britain is in the Western geo-physical hemisphere; part is in the east (Check out where zero degrees longitude lies.

    But seriously, Britain is regarded as being in the Western geo-political hemisphere.
