    Grandpa?

You could add someone to the background asking, "Hey, has anyone seen grandpa lately?"

We have a cover. Thank you, Jenniferpa

Once again, thank you -- for good ideas, silly ideas, terrible ideas (this is not The Donner Party Cookbook) -- and one, from Jenniferpa that caught everyone's fancy: the stargazey pie, a traditional fish pie from Cornwall, with six sardines peering out through the crust at the stars. Tastes good, visually strange but fascinating, good story. So there it is, and you can see the final cover at

So, Jenniferpa, please get in touch ([email protected]) so we will know how properly to credit you in the book, and where to send (next fall) your free copy.

    Thank you, one and most.

So did you use the Met Office recipe or the NY Times recipe (both linked above) or another?

We actually made both recipes (very similiar, except one used a lot of chopped hardboiled eggs, the other didn't), then a third that combined and adjusted flavors a bit (ending up with eggs, and a bit more lemony than they may do it in Mousehole, Cornwall, where it apparently originated).

How could I have forgotten to pass this along? It's from a computer users group and was distributed by Steve Bass, who works for PC World. I think it speaks for itself, but I'm not sure how you'd go about including it in the cookbook.

  6. Here's a nice picture of stargazey pie from the story of the Mousehole Cat.
