Tmartca! I did everything you posted above today! Well, after I went into the admissions office (that had no line!). I submitted my application, gave the lady my check, and my statement of purpose. She emailed the education department to see if they still had my transcripts. The next thing I knew she asked me if wanted to register today. I didn't hesitate and said, "yes".

The next thing I knew she slapped a class schedule book and registration form in front of me. Instructed me to fill out the form and write the courses in and then I could continue down to the bookstore and get the books.

I was standing confused. I wasn't expecting to do all of that. I mean that is the goal but..... LOL>

I got nervous and could feel my heart beating. A million thoughts were running through my head.

    I'm not accepted yet.
Don't I need to take an ID?
    Get a parking voucher.
Go stand in line at the financial aid office, advisor's office, registrar, etc.?
I don't know how I'm paying for this quite yet.

I remember more stress involved with this process especially when I was CMU.

I finally told her I needed to review both the bulletin and schedule book before I selected a course. I left in a stupor.

I returned home (15 min drive woohoo!) and my husband laughed at me and told me I chickened out. I opened the manual and the graduate class offerings were the first four pages in the book. Eight pages total! LOL!

No wonder she was looking at me funny when I said I needed to study the booklet before making a choice.

So, I guess I will take the classes I am most afraid of: Financial Accounting and Quantitative Statistical Business Research. I have dodged and tiptoed around these classes for over 15 years. I guess it's now or never. I need to be in a seat for accounting I think. But, the Stat class is offered only online. I guess I can work if I'm called back. But, I'd rather get a part-time in the business field. I need experience.

I guess I will go back to Madonna tomorrow. LOL! But, I really need to figure out how I'm paying for all of this. I have a few calls to make.

    Siddielou, thanks for the headsup!

I have so many options now. I'm excited and anxious at the same time. I don't know why I'm anxious...heck I've been in school for 25 years!

I thought I was a pro at this ((chuckle))

If the school has a career center, look for some interships; even if it is on campus. Often, atleast some skills and duties can be translated to many other jobs.

    "Financial Accounting "

-- Glad you're excited about starting back to school. The anxiety is normal and should pass once you get back into the groove of things. Remember stress is a reaction to both negative (job loss) and positive (going back to school) stimuli.

Anyhooo, I was very stressed out by Financial Accounting and found "Schaum's Financial Accounting 2 Ed." by Jae Kim to be indispensable. The IBSN is 0071341668

Generally I've found that the Schaum guides have been very helpful in my accounting, finance, and business statistics classes.

    Hope this helps.

Yea. Its tough finding a job in architecture. I commend your boldness. A member of my family works for the federal government. He is fortunate to have a high level GS position. The guy has eons of experience in government, a masters in architecture from UC Berkeley and degrees from NYU and Parsons. With all these credentials he still found it tough to find a job. The architecture license is definitely crazy.

    Thanks for the tip.

I'm all registered and I took my ID. I also got a free bumper sticker Woohoo!

Now, wish me luck on passing both classes with a least a B+.
