Well, I got the results of my English CLEP in the mail this afternoon. I passed! That was the last piece needed in order to complete my AAS in Occupational Studies/EDM through TESC. Now all I have to do is wait for TESC to receive the last of my transcripts so I can apply for graduation! The degree should be conferred in September, but all the requirements have been met! That's really huge for me because I am already in a BA program at Bellevue, which accepts the AAS degree as meeting all of its core requirements without a class-by-class transfer equivalency process. Thanks to everyone on this board that has offered their advice and encouragement, whether it be knowingly or unknowingly. Without this board I would not have known about TESC, CLEP, FEMA, Bellevue, etc. DegreeInfo is a TREMENDOUS resource for people and I am proud to be a member of this community. Thanks again! Woohooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pug
Congratulations! By the way, how do you like Bellevue? I have been considering their BA in Corporate Communications.
Hearty congratulations, Pug! I agree with you that this board and all who sail in it are a great resource. I am not sure if I would have taken the plunge so easily into enrolling in a college which I had never heard of before if it hadn't been for this board. I am sure it has saved many a hapless sailor from drowing in a sea of worthless degrees being proffered from all sides. Enjoy your accomplishment. It feels great. I know , as I look with pride on my Excelsior degree sitting on my bookshelf egging me on to keep on learning.
You're already in a BA program at Bellevue? Well, I guess that means we don't get to subject you to the usual hazing! Congratulations, anyway! You've graduated!
I'm enrolled in the BA in Leadership program and have completed about 3 weeks so far. I really like the online interface and bulletin board. I think I learn more from the discussion boards than I would if I was just reading the text and taking tests. I know that I retain MUCH more after having discussed things in a group. The instructor is attentive and helpful, particularly in generating board discussions or offering just enough input to make you think in different ways. All of that said, the pace is INTENSE. I'm in the accelerated program so each class is condensed into 4 weeks. There is a lot of required reading that is needed for the writing and discussion assignments. If you fall behind, you're screwed. I would recommend BU if you are sure that you can devote the time to work quickly and consistently. If not, the accelerated program may not be right for you. Pug
LOL! Yup, I did all of my resaerch on the various options and paths WAY before I completed the AAS at TESC. I apologize for not affording everyone the pleasure of hazing me!
