I'm enrolled in Touro's Dual MSHS in healthcare management/MBA program, has anyone taken these courses and if so, can you share your experience.

    Keep in touch..

    Hello DNice,
I'd be interested in hearing your experiences with this program as I am looking at this program for next year some time after I finish my undergrad. They have a great tuition break going on which I hope they hold until I'm ready to enroll so I can still get it. Keep in touch and let us know how things are going.

I will surely keep in touch. Very few universities offer this dual program. I believe both degress will help you in the healthcare management field. A lot of people are starting to enroll in this program.

I graduated from TUI's MBA program with a specialization in Health Care Management. I think it was a great program. Many of the health care management classes were interesting because the theories, which were backed up by examples, were totally new concepts to me. I still refer to some of them today, especially when helping my brother-in-law who is a physician in private practice.

I noticed that you have already completed your undergraduate degree at TUI, so I don't have to mention how classes, online discussions, and assignments are handled in the program. Let me know if I can answer any specific questions here or via a private message on the board.

I don't see thier curriculum on their web site. If University makes you feel a form to email you curriculum then it looks fishy. I may be wrong and may not be able to locate their MBA curriculum.

Happy with my experience at TUI

    Justin,

I finished Touro’s MBA program in Health Care Management and was very pleased with the entire experience. Touro University International (now TUI University) was a good fit for me.

At the time, TUI’s connection to Touro College, including Touro’s law and medical schools, was important to me because TUI was a new school. Since then, TUI has gained independent accreditation and was later sold to a new parent company. That sale does not concern me the way sales of other universities has because TUI has (in my subjective opinion) become a more established and stable program. For example, it appears that TUI has retained much of the same faculty and all of its key leadership over the years.

I needed an online format or else I would not have been able to attend graduate school at that time. TUI’s semesters allow students to take four classes a year, sequentially, and without overlap. During the first year of the program I took two classes per semester and progressed quickly. When I accepted a different job about halfway through the program, I had to slow down to one class per semester. However, that still allowed me to take four classes a year. Over the course of an entire degree program those extra classes per year can really add up. That is one advantage I found with TUI over other schools I considered.

The education offered was (again, in my personal experience) very good. I have completed a second master’s degree at a B&M state school and I think my online experience at TUI was equally excellent. Some classes at each school were better than others, but both programs on the whole were very good. As with any program, the more you put into it the more you will get out of it. I learned quite a lot at TUI.

Having an MBA helped my career and the distance learning format did not hurt my employment opportunities later. I don’t know if my employers even knew that I attended an “online” university. They could have looked up TUI on the Web and not mentioned it to me, but I doubt they cared enough to look. They certainly never asked me about it. I suspect that most people with distance education degrees have similar experiences with their employers. The flexibility of an online learning format just can’t be beat.

If you would like to learn more about my experiences at TUI, just let me know.
