LeBron actually played very well, but this Celtics team seems to take a page out of the great Celtic teams of the past; the teams which would let Wilt Chamberlain run wild while they shut-down the rest of the opposition. Wilt's individual stats would be impressive, but his team still got the "L".

Celtics vs. Lakers in the NBA Finals.......I can feel it!!!!! :D

I'm on record saying it will be the Spurs coming out of the Western Conference. That Lakers/Spurs series will be a great one to watch. Will all the games be on latelatelate (for us East Coasters)?
I've got to get some sleep!

Then this makes me a Kizmet fan as well as a Spurs fan :).

Thanks for the boost - after the first two games vs. the Hornets, it was stressful waiting for the Spurs experience to kick in and start recovering games. If it helps, I'm rooting for the Celtics to come out of the East - I truly want to see that showdown.

One more victory, and the Cavaliers are done!!!!

Of course, I won't mention the Celtics' problems winning on the road...

It's clear that the Celtics are banking on their home court advantage. They can (theoretically) lose every road game and still win the championship. So far their opponents have cooperated by losing all the Celtics home games. Future opponents may not be so cooperative and so the Celts have to find a way to win on the road or they will not end the season well.

Well, Boston got by Cleveland but from my seat it looked pretty messy. When you're down at the beginning of the fourth quarter and your starters are on the bench, well, that's just not a good thing. The C's continue to be plagued by their inability to win on the road. Detroit is a good enough team that they can come into Boston and win at least one. That means that the Celtics have to go into Detroit and win at least one. They haven't shown (in the playoffs) that they can do this. Let's watch.

That game (7) was one of the best Celtics games I've seen since the days when Bird & Company were patrolling the parquet. The Detroit series is going to be tough, and I agree; if the Celts can't win at least one in Detroit, then it's over.

One down, three to go against Detroit. :D

As much as I've not enjoyed the high-wire act the Celtics have done so far in the playoffs, I think it was clear tonight that Detroit was rusty after a week-long layoff, while the Celtics were firing on all cylinders.

I still say....they need to win on the road to win it all.

Is the Boston/Detroit series the finals yet or are there further opponents?

Eastern Conference finals...the winner of that series goes on to play the Western Conference winner for the NBA Championship.

Who's still in it over in the Western Conference?

Just as Boston is playing Detroit for the Eastern Conference title, San Antonio is playing Los Angeles for the Western Conference championship. The winners of the conference championships will meet in the NBA final championship.

Well, the Celtics have gone 1-1 in Detroit so far, but finally got the road win which had eluded them throughout the playoffs.

    Back to Boston!

The next couple of days will be interesting. Both San Antonio and Detroit face elimination in their next game. I can't stay up late enough to watch those West Coast games. so I'll have to read about it tomorrow morning. I'm sure the Celtics would like to avoid a seventh game against Detroit and so they'll be trying to put them away tomorrow night. It'll be tough trying to beat Detroit in Detroit under those circumstances. I'm sorry to say that I think that Jigamafloo may be disappointed with the result of tonights game.

It's just soooo much fun to be a Boston sports fan.

Celtics v. Lakers in the NBA finals.

Be smart. Don't bet against the green.

I feel young, like it's 1986 all over again. I may put on some Flock of Seagulls, go into the basement to find my 80's-era cockroach killer shoes and dead-snake leather ties to celebrate! :D

Bruce - I know that we're both happy. We've got the Red Sox. We've got the Patriots and now we've got the Celtics. They are on track to win the NBA championship title. However, despite all that I must inform you that I am a sworn deputy of the fashion police and if you resurrect those specific fashion items (they've long since been declared illegal) then I'll have no choice but to arrest you.

(Since I love the old school too I'm going with the hardcore green tie-dyed
t-shirt an old pair of Levis and a pair of Adidas superstars)

We're finally seeing the real Paul Pierce. He is fantastic!
