    Greetings,

My friend is looking is looking for a MS program in Information Technology Management, Management of Information Systems or Information Systems Management. He would like to get his degree from a regionally accredited B&M institution, with no residency requirement, and no GRE/GMAT requirement. He is currently deployed to Afghanistan for a 15 month rotation and would like to start his graduate education. Also, nothing too expensive when it comes to tuition. Below the $400 per credit hour rate would be nice.

One program that pops right up is the Dakota State University MSIS program, but are there any others?

    Regards,

nice reply... I noticed that you're very pro DSU ;) There is nothing wrong with DSU. Anyways, I just want to give him couple of options.

    Thanks in advance.

Darn! What gave away my DSU bias?

I think it is a good idea to explore all options before making a decision. The DANTES external degree catalog lists quite a few options. You can quickly rule out the non-B&M's and then start looking at tuition costs and residency requirements.

Nova Southeastern University just started an MS in Information Technology program that your friend may be interested in, but their tuition does break the bank a little.

http://mis.uis.edu/ (out-of-state students pay the same low tuition rate as in-state students)

Unfortunately DSU does not have an AACSB accreditation. For an IS program AACSB credentials are important.

It really depends on the IS program. If the program yields a business degree with an IS concentration, then AACSB would be a factor. However, if the program yields a true IS degree, then the program does not fall within the scope of AACSB accreditation. If a true IS program claims to be AACSB, is the program itself AACSB accredited or are the business programs in the business department AACSB accredited?

When I was looking into DSU, I questioned their lack of AACSB accreditation so I emailed AACSB to get their take on the matter. Their response is below.
