I'd like some feedback for a research project that I
am working on - and I believe this is the right forum
to post it in, and if not accept my apologies in advance.

More and more in the internet and information age
we are seeing an increase in the number of self-empowerment,
self development, self improvement, self-help, or whatever you
    want to call them programs.

Based on your experience and observations:

What problems do you see and/or have experienced
with these types of programs, and why?

    All feedback is greatly appreciated.

Hi Jonesy - I'm afraid that my reply will be more general than specific. it's more about the internet in general rather than any specific program or website. Here's the thing,

Somewhere in the course of my undergraduate studies I realized that if you were willing to dig deep enough, you could find someone (ostensibly credible) who would say almost anything about anything. Someone who was willing to comb through all the texts, all the journals, all the dissertations, all the letters to the editor, etc. well, that person could develop a case for almost any perspective on any issue.

With all that in mind I have a strong tendency to approach these issues/organizations with a long, long stick. My main complaint:
they make claims but do not adequately back them up.

Best of luck with your research.
