    Hey David,

Dizzy Dean said, "It ain't bragging if you can do it!" :)

Congrats on your accomplishments! I'm an adjunct at a DETC school (Andrew Jackson University) and I don't believe the curriculum there is second rate.

Congratulations, David. And to DETC for embracing their outstanding graduates

I know one other one, Ben Davis. They don't mention his first doctorate, a DMin. He earned his second, in management, from NCU, IIRC.

Thanks everyone, I’m actually quite proud of this and I’m not sure why, DETC and Aspen being so second rate and ‘fraudulent’ according to some.. :)

Dr. Gina, I am very married (and am probably now in trouble as my wedding ring is buzzing an alarm, not good..), but I have a single brother in CA who I’m trying to fix up.. :)

Rich, you picked up on the right subtext, recognition of DETC grads. The more I get in contact with other DETC graduates the more impressed I am at their accomplishments, drive, and professional placement..

Congrats David! It's good to hear of such accomplishments from an Aspen alumnus.

BTW, how are you liking Harrison Middleton thus far? Their D.A. looks intriguing.

The DA is great, the flexibility to study exactly what you want, yet to be appropriately challenged and guided is, as far as I can tell, completely unique to DL.

The first thing you do is study their ‘great book’ methodology, and then you have to write your own program, present it, and get it approved by their board. What is clever is that this ends up giving you experience preparing courses and curriculums at the college level. Since much of the courses revolve around evaluative one-on-one conversations, I can say from experience that the people at the other end of the phone are pretty good.

My program pitch ended up being like 60 pages or so, I’ve put the first 15 up if you want to take a look at it.

    Hi Dave,

Congratulations on the great write-up! It's certainly well deserved!

Quick question for you. I went to Harrison Middleton's site to look more closely at the D.A. program -- it sounds like a perfect fit for a friend of mine who has been shopping around for a doctorate in the humanities program for awhile. However, I can't find any mention of the D.A. program, only the ED.D. Is the D.A. program closed to new applicants?

    Cheers,
    Adrienne

The DA program is in their catalog (in .pdf format) but not on their website yet.

It’s open, and as pointed out in the catalog, just not on the website yet. If you call them they will get you squared away in short order. They are very much more geared to talking to you than any other medium..
