Any of you use these guides in prep for CLEP/DANTES exams? What did you think of them? Was the information well prepared and relevant to the exam? http://www.passyourclass.com/ They are pricey on this site but they can be found on ebay for cheaper. Thanks
I don't know personally about the quality of the guides, but I have heard good feedback on them. The closest I got to actually buying one so far was with the World Religions guide, and actually ended up using their eBay ad for a study guideline rather than buying the book! And speaking of eBay, yes these books are cheaper there.
I've used a few of them and they were worth the money (though they cost a lot less way back when). I just bought one the other day at the new and higher price. I'm waiting for the hard copy, but they sent me the softcopy almost immediately. It looked to be an outline exactly like I was looking for.
Ive used them in the past for psych, socialogy, management and american goverment. The guides are great AS A SUPPLIMENT. In my oppinion, if you are not familiar with the area of study and use soley the guides as a test prep tool you will most likely fail. Since you are interested in books i would make my personal suggestion. In testing i have used alot of "the complete idiots guide" books to learn about the subjects in preparation for the exams. then i would use a suppliment like the "pass your class" or just research the subjects/topics on the net. Other books i recommend are REA guides (both the ones tailored for the cleps and the ones covering the "essentials" of a subject). I would also recommend the cliff notes guides as well.
Thanks for the replies twicehalflife. That is basically the same opinion Ive received reading other forums as well. I took heres to your health a few weeks ago and I studied IC and reviewed the PYC guide. I believe if i would have ONLY studied the PYC guide I would have probably failed.
