[/B] OK folks, I want your opinions. I am working on my master degree however; I want to have total flexibility. I have 12 RA graduate credits in homeland security, terrorism, and emergency management. In the beginning I just wanted to accumulate a total of 24 credits and then transfer to the Mountain State University’s Master of Interdisciplinary Studies to complete the master’s. Now I am getting cold feet about earning so many credits without actually being accepted. If they refuse the credits at that point, I would not have another choice; I would be hard pressed as no other master program accepts that many credits. On the other hand, several universities accept 12 transferred credits into a master degree. Should I go ahead and apply now to MSU, and forget flexibility at this time? The reason I have not applied yet is because MSU does not have graduate homeland security courses at this time. Otherwise the decision would be easy.

Athabasca University offers a Master of Arts in Integrated Studies. A minimum of 18 credits (including the two core courses and an integrated project course) must be completed through Athabasca University in order to meet the residency requirement. This might meet your requirements.

You might also wish to check out Amberton University's MA in Professional Development .

Fully distance learning, they allow 12 hours of transfer credit, and very flexible in areas of interdisciplinary study. Best of luck in whatever option you chose.

Thank you both, these are two good choices. I did not know Athabasca University accepted so many credits in transfer.
