In the process of deciding between COSC and TESC, I put together a possible Literature/Writing concentration:

    LL:
    News writing 3
    GRE lit 15
    Publication design 3

    UL:
review writing by portfolio (published book, theater and bar reviews) 3
    Grant writing 3
    GRE lit 3
Remaining 9 credits in public relations, creative writing, etc. picked up at local B&M

Does that look like a valid concentration? I just don't know how fussy they are about everything fitting together just so. I would love to hear from people who have completed the concentration process at COSC.

When I completed my COSC they were pretty easy to work with. I had to write an essay explaining how the credits/class fit into my "Individualized Studies" . You can do a search and find the post where I posted the one that was rejected and the one that was accepted.

I am not sure if they still require an essay or not for the "Individualized Studies" program. The best think to do is ask them. I called them so many times before I sent them a single nickel, they recognized my voice when I said hello. They are great and always willing to answer anything.

    Hope this helps-

That's great to know. One of my concerns about TESC was that it looked like they wouldn't talk to me until I sent in my $2300 bucks and enrolled.

Charter Oak is dramatically different. I also corresponded with my Admissions guy at length before signing up, mostly because I wanted to do some CLEPs ahead of time to ensure I'd only be a student there for one year (thereby not paying a renewal matriculation fee).
