I read through some previous posts in regards to credit banking FEMA courses and have some questions. After you bank the credits through TESC can you transfer that transcript to another school? In the posts I read it seemed to only mention Excelsior and TESC.? Say you bank a bunch of FEMA courses do you have to attend Excelsior or TESC to keep that credit gain? Am i missing something? Thanks
In theory, yes, other schools should accept them. That said, they are under no obligation to accept credit from anywhere. We already know for sure that COSC does not accept FEMA credit booked through TESC. Every school is going to be differant. I imagine that those schools with liberal transfer acceptance policies would be receptive to allowing the credits. Pug
American Public University System (APUS: AMU and APU) accept FEMA credits whether credit banked or in direct transfer.
I spoke with a rep from AMU and she told me that they only accept FEMA credits that are ACE approved and on the ACE website. I believe all of those courses listed on the ACE website are resident courses not the independent study courses. You will have to log in the ACE website in order to see them and they are listed under National Emergency Training Center (EMI)
Two courses from the National Fire Academy Independent Study program are ACE evaluated. No courses from the FEMA Independent Study program are ACE evaluated. National Fire Academy Independent Study - Q118 & Q318. http://www.usfa.dhs.gov/nfa/nfaonline
