Here is a link that might help someone:

Colorado State University Pueblo has a large independent study offering that includes undergraduate courses in a wide array of disciplines, and graduate courses in the field of education. Not much is ever discussed on the degree boards about the institution, but it's worth a look. . .registration is unbelievably simple (one page), and tuition is laughingly low.

I can say it's a great school. Graduated from the independent learning program in Sociology/Criminology in 2005. After graduating I almost immediately switched careers and obtained a job at the Children & Youth Agency for the County I live in. The process was easy for registering for classes and teacher response to assignments was great. One of my instructors for several of my criminology classes is actually the chief of police for the city of Pueblo. And at $300 a course I could not beat the price.
