I am currently exploring completing the BSAST in Electronics Engineering Technology. Since practically all of my previously earned credits are more than 10 years old, I would have to validate the currency of my knowledge for each of the credits obtained, according to the info provided by TESC: "Demonstration of Currency refers to the transfer of credits. If the credits you wish to transfer to the College are over 10 years old at the time of application to the College, you will need to demonstrate currency for these courses. You can validate these transfer credits by completing an oral conference with a faculty consultant covering contemporary developments in the subject at hand. You must be enrolled in the College to complete this procedure."

Has anyone here gone through this procedure?

If so, can you share the experience? Is some guidance provided by TESC for preparing for the oral conference? It sounds rather wishy-washy and unpredicable to me, and as a result I am leaning toward the BS with Engineering concentration offered by Charter Oak.

    Thanks.

Depending on the specialization for the BSAST degree it should not be an issue in demonstrating currency. For example, the Computer Science Technology major area of study covers subjects/courses that have not changed much in the last 20 years. Other major areas of study could be more fluid and therefore be more susceptible to obsolescence.

Thanks, sentinel, I thought so too especially since most of the courses are foundational to engineering and the basics simply do not change much at all.
