I'm looking for an inexpensive course that would be a basic intro to financial accounting. Doesn't have to be for credit. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

About the cheapest you can find is LSU Independant Study at $229 per course.

    Good luck!

A good supplement to an accounting course is the Accounting Coach Web site.

You could also buy a current financial accounting textbook whose publisher hosts a supporting Web site. For example, Thompson publishes an introductory accounting textbook - combined financial and managerial - by Warren, Reeve and Fess. The supporting Web site, open to the public, has chapter summaries, online interactive quizzes, and Excel spreadsheets to facilitate selected end-of-chapter problems. If you work through the book and the problems and 'grade' yourself with the online quizzes you ought to be able to acceptably cover the first year of accounting.

    Good luck,
    Mark

There is another site called Principles of Accounting

I thought it was very good. It is completely free and has full chapters with exercises, word problems, etc. after each chapter.
