I have a few questions about the credit bank. I see on another link that they convert FEMA EMI courses to TESC college credit based on receiving a FEMA EMI transcript. The FEMA courses ARE not ACE evauated. What about other non- ACE evaluated courses. For example a paralegal certificate that is not DETC or ACE evaluated.(Blackstone School of Law)
http://www.blackstonelaw.com/ (new location -old was in Texas)
Would they convert these paralegal courses to TESC equivalent courses on the credit bank transcript? Military courses?
What can be put on the TESC credit bank for college credit? Is this done just by transcript or is a PLA needed? And does anyone have the link to download the credit bank application as I can't find it online and they don't answer my e-mail. I thank all who reply in advance.

    Hi laferney.

I'm going to have to disagree with you about FEMA credits not being ACE approved.

Picking a random FEMA credit I have listed on my TESC transcipts look like this:

    EDM 140 Introduction to Mitigation TESC-ACE 1.00 CR 04/2006

I think that the "ACE" indicates that it is ACE approved.

The link you are looking for is here:

    under "Nondegree Services Application"

No idea if you can bank PLA, but i would imagine that if you have paid the fees to do a PLA, then they will bank them.

I would talk to Excelsior and COSC about what their credit bank policy is regarding banking PLA's if TESC is no effectively communicating with you.

    Good luck,
    sirrain.

I didn't think they were ACE evaluated but your transcript indicates they are. I know several of the Fire Service courses are.
Thanks for the link to the credit bandk application.

Blackstone is DETC. Look at the bottom of there web site.

I was going to do their Paralegal program, but I went with Ashworth College for a AA in Paralegal Studies. Which is also DETC.

I believe TESC does not accept NA schools, but that could change as EC now does. So I don't think TESC would bank any of these units. You could try and let us know.

Some of FEMA courses are ACE, but most are not. However TESC will bank alot of them. Most of the ones you could get FC credit for.

I have been taking the FEMA courses. I will set up a TESC to see what they will bank for me.

    Thanks for posting.
Blackstone was not DETC when I graduated. It was located in Dallas Tx and has since moved and is now DETC accredited. I found it very responsive and I have been able to use alot of what I leared there - I recommend it .
I suppose if the FEMA courses weren't ACE approved that TESC issues RA credit because another school does (FCC) and TESC has a major in Emergency Disaster Management .
What other courses, not ACE evaluated, or college level can be put in the Credit bank and "converted" to college credit? Since TESC has a paralegal concentration I was wondering if the Blackstone courses could be , similiar to the FEMA courses.
    How about military courses?
