Hello everyone. I was introduced to this website by accident. Considering that I'm in the field of distance education I was fascinated with the site once I found it.

There's a page on the website about the former Portfolio Assessment process at TESC. The process underwent very significant changes 3 years ago. As an advisor I can provide details about the change. I welcome the opportunity to be of assistance to any interested readers.

If anyone can tell me how to contact the web managers I'd love to update them as well.

I'm very curious about the process. I plan to enroll at TESC this fall and will probably attempt two or three classes by portfolio assessment.

    Todd,

I am also at TESC student and am hoping to do 3 portfolios.

    Your input would be valuable.

Welcome to the forum, Todd. It's always nice to hear from the other side of the registrar's (or advisors, etc.) counter. In the spirit of forthright disclosure, if you are currently employed by a distance education vendor you might consider modifying your signature to mention that fact.

This portion of the forum is administered by Chip, DesElms and Bruce. I haven't heard from Chip in a while; DesElms was taken ill and hasn't yet returned to the board, but Bruce posts regularly and can be reached through this formmail.

The portfolio process is one of the key features TESC offers to experienced, non-traditional learners and an update would be valuable to many here.

    Regards,
    Mark

    Hi, Todd.

You were my advisor at TESC and I just finished my last class recently. I am awaiting the "letter" so that I can begin the process of applying to graduate schools. I just wanted to say thank you for all the help you gave me while in pursuit of my degree. Your assistance and advice on choosing classes was invaluable.

TESC and Certified Professional Sec. Exam

Good Morning, Hope you can give me an answer on the above. Page 104 of the 2001-2003 catalog has the Certified Professional Secretary Exam offered by the International Association of Administrative Professionals awarded up to 33 credits. The exam still exists but does TESC give the credits? Thanks. Hille***

    The test

Good Morning, I rechecked the website and there it was. The Secretarial Test for up to 33 credits. I have 3 returning college student friends and this could really jump up their transcript numbers. Hille

That's one reason I am always reluctant about responding to someone new. Here today, gone tomorrow - why waste my time.

To be fair, he might be unable to continue posting due to work rules. He may not have vetted his original post to his boss.

    Our loss.
