    Hey Beach!

I am amazed at your blog site and also I love your photography! You are an amazing photographer! I used to take wedding and other photography and my kids are all artists. One of my daughters has her BFA in photography. You're awesome with that camera!

    Thanks for the congrats.

I notice that you have Florida as one of your hangouts. Do you live there? I live in Miami.

    Congratulations, Dr. B!

My co-worker is a Masters-level student at Capella, and I see what he goes through. It's certainly no lay down, so my hat is off to you, sir.

    Congratulations, Doctor Blackbird!

I can "fee"l the exhaustion you so eloquently described....yikes!

But really, really liked your "mission statement" - about helping to bless people's lives! Now, doesn't that make all the pain worth something? I hope I feel that way when I complete my graduate school preparations in 2007....if I get there....

Perhaps you need to start a forum somewhere for graduated DL psychologists? I would be one of the first members!

In any case, you are an inspiration to others whom you know not....

    Congratulations

    Well Done Dr.BlackBird.

I have also been thinking about pursuing doctral course work for a while, but never took the next step of going ahead and applying. I have been lurking in these forums for a while soaking up in the experiences of some amazing people in their pursuit of better life and qualifications. When i read your posting, it fills me with a lot of belief and also reinforces the fact that, the best things in life never come easily.

My regards and wishes to you for your future career and life and a BIG THANK YOU.

    [color=dark red]Longwaytogo...

Thank you. I feel that the smallest package ever is when we get all wrapped up in ourselves. Our egos either love agrandizement or victimization. When we are permitted to make a significant accomplishment in our lives, we need to be humble and realize that it is a stewardship and preparatory for a greater assignment. Our learnings are for touching lives for the better.

Hang in there and when you least expect it... you'll be done! Then we will call you Dr. also! :)

    Thank you.

Take the plunge, Sathya! Take the plunge! You are not getting any younger. There is a way with destiny that it works for you when you move. When you stay put, let it be only to meditate, appreciate, evaluate, and rejuvenate. Then you must move forward! Sathya... let me push you forward. Many have done so with me. I cheer you on. Take the plunge! You will be amazed at what you can do! I look forward to saluting you as Doctor!
    :)

Congratulations once again, Dr. Blackbird. Capella has some very solid programs. I hope that they get APA accreditation soon.
    Good luck!

    Graduation Congratulations

Great job. I think part of the ph.d. process is simply to see who has the stamina to do it. I wish I had gone after the doctorate instead of my CAS.
    All the best!

Iratr... thank you... have you thought about negotiating with some DL school or even a B&B school to accept all of your specialist credits as part o f your Ph.D. transfer credits? Who knows... maybe you still can go for it... Best regards to you!

    Hey Blackbird,
I'm curious how long it all took you, the Masters and Dr.
What would you recommend me to do: get a Masters in Counseling anywhere and then enroll in Capella, or would it be more beneficial to enroll in Capella and get both MS and Dr at their site.
However, for both programs, how often is residency really required, because I'm looking to do DE and maybe travel back and forth, if not too often.
With Capella there are no worries on APA acreditation, right?
How would you compare it to NCU and Fielding. I'm afraid of NCU because not APA acredited. What do you think?
Thanks a lot and wow, I admire you. Wish I was there where you are:)

First, Capella "IS NOT APA approved. They withdrew their application. It may happen some day, but it's likely to be years away.

Second, Blackbird did not attend Capella's clinical psych program. He completed their marriage and family therapy program and is thus not eligible for licensure as a "psychologist.

xygirl -- SLOW DOWN!! You're wheels are spinning way to fast. Cracking the psychology career path nut takes a lot of time and research. Unfortunately, it's not a simple path to chart. And with all due respect, there are a lot of holes in your thinking/planning/strategizing.
