    Hi Guys,

Is there any ColumbiaSouthern University graduates here ? Probably I'll be seeking admission in this university for my MBA . So I need to get some information about this university. How helpful are the professors ? And till now I'm not sure about their exam process , so if anybody is aware of that please let me know. Please give me as much as info as you can. I don't want to waste my money on any program that does not worth it.

    Thank you

I can't help you much, but is that degree offered through Northern Alabama or Western Alabama? I'm kind of confused about CSU's relationship with these Alabama State Universities.

Columbia Southern does marketing and helps with the adminstration for admission only to UNA and UWA as well as West Florida. The courses are offered by thier own schools. CSU offer's it's own DETC accredited MBA.

I'm a graduate from Columbia Southern University with a BSBA (2003) and MBA/Public Administration (2005).

CSU's academic programs were challenging and rigors. I enjoyed the fact that there were no scheduled online sessions and it was an independent study program with an assigned professor who was there to assist you if needed. The classes consist of a combination of unit exams, short essays, discussion board assignments, research/scholarly papers and proctored final exams.

Listed below is from the CSU website:

Excellent Personal Service: Beginning with your initial contact you’ll find CSU’s personalized service is second to none. Faculty and staff are dedicated to the principle that it is only through your success that we succeed. You will find us readily available to assist you with information from the application process to graduation. And CSU’s Alumni Association is the perfect place for you to stay connected following graduation.

Open Enrollment: Start class when you are ready. There are no predetermined semester or session dates you need to contend with. CSU sets the objectives, you set your schedule, and CSU’s faculty and staff provide the support you’ll need to successfully complete your program.

Self-Paced Programs: AT CSU you set the pace. You are allotted 10 weeks to complete a course but you can complete a course in less time if you are able. Following the DBA Student Orientation course you may choose to complete one course at a time or two courses simultaneously.

Flexible Learning: There are no preset online sessions you need contend with, nor are you required to participate in learning teams or groups designed for the “typical” younger campus based student. You will work at your own pace within each 10-week course completing assignments at times that work best for you. CSU’s method of flexible individualized instruction is designed to provide each student the guidance and support needed for successful course completion.

Course Structure: CSU’s online courses combine the best of online delivery and traditional university textbooks. Online you will find the course syllabus, course content, assignments, and online open book exams. This student friendly course design allows you the most flexibility in choosing when and where you will learn.

Classroom of One: Once enrolled you will be assigned a personal student service representative who works with you on an individualized basis throughout your program of study. Course specific faculty members are assigned at the beginning of each course providing the academic support you need to successfully complete each course.

Value: CSU’s tuition rate is one of the most competitive rates available. Combine that with a quality program supported by excellent service, and we think that you will agree—CSU offers an unbeatable value in education.

    Online Library
The Online Library provides access to a wealth of reference materials and online access to professional Librarians who will be there for you 24/7 (twenty four hours a day, seven days a week). For this extremely useful tool you will be assessed a one time Library Fee of $50.

    Student Forum
Here’s where you will interact with your fellow students and CSU Alumni on a wide range of topics. CSU's Student Forum also serves as a reference site that will enable you to quickly access previously posted questions and answers.

    The Faculty
The select members of our faculty are not academicians steeped in theory alone. In addition to having earned their degrees from such prestigious universities as Duke University, Stanford University, Harvard, Wake Forest University and Penn State, CSU’s faculty are recognized leaders within their chosen professions and bring to our programs a wealth of “real world” experience that will prove beneficial as you progress through your studies here at CSU.

At CSU there are no scheduled online sessions, nor are you required to participate in learning teams or groups designed for the “typical” younger campus based student. Non-traditional students by nature are anything but “typical”. CSU students are international, are from diverse back-grounds, range in age from 22 to 65, and are at different levels of their careers. CSU’s method of flexible individualized instruction is designed to provide each student the guidance and support needed for successful course completion.

CSU is accredited member of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC): The Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency and is a recognized member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Where did you complete your undergraduate work? If you're considering Columbia Southern at $240 per hour, why not take a look at Fort Hays State University. FHSU is regionally accredited and only $174 per hour. The reason I ask about your undergarduate work is because I don't know if FHSU will accept NA undergred degrees.
