Re: Re: California Coast University DETC NA

    Ummmm......no.

DETC-accredited degrees are not useless in Canada. There are a number of Canadians working in senior level positions within gov't and the private sector who are using DETC-accredited degrees. I haven't made this up - this is fact. Furthermore, each Canadian university has its own set of rules when assessing a foreign degree holder for entry into its graduate and post-graduate programs. Some will accept DETC-accredited degrees and some may not. The key here is "recognized accreditation" in accordance with American federal law. For the record, I have not come across one individual who has been turned away from a Canadian grad school because his or her degree is NA. Lastly, it's a big world out there and there are employment opportunities beyond the borders of the United States and Canada. If one takes the time to look, one can find DETC grads working in jobs abroad.

So...I don't subscribe to your notion that DETC-accredited degrees are "practically useless."

There isn't a clearcut "yes" or "no" answer to your question. You'd basically have to canvass each country's gov't, universities and business organizations to come up with an answer. Each nation is different. And...while you're at it...ask about American RA DL schools as well. I remember coming across a post where the writer said that DL RA degrees weren't accpeted in Italy. I don't know if that's true or not. But...since you're looking you might want to ask. ;) I wish I had the link to that post.

Where's Ted Heiks? He has lists and links to eveything.

    Dear Behrin

How are you Sir. I just traveled through Istanbul a few months ago for the first time in about thirty years. Things have sure changed.

Since you are from Turkey and US Regional Accrreditation doesn't matter, check out The Yorker International University. They graduate approximately 3,500 students per year and have many campuses worldwide. They offer Masters and Doctorates in Psychology through distance learning.

Please write Professor Marco Grappeggia at [email protected] or [email protected]. He has a PhD from Columbia University and their main campus is licated in Milan Italy.

They have a campus in Athens, Greece and are listed on the Cukurova University website under Yunanstan.

I agree with dl_mba on this one.

If you want to maximize the utility of your degree (at home and abroad) then choose a post-secondary institution with "recognized accreditation" or a school that is "properly Chartered."

    Thanks everyone ,

I have found out that Turkish Higher Council Of EDucation ( which is the main accrediting institution in Turkey) does not accept Distance Learning Degrees no matter if RA or NA .

So do you think enrolling with California Coast University would be my best bet considering the cost ? I heard the NCU accepts NA credits .
Do you think NCU will accept the credits from Calcoast?

    best regards ,

    behrin

Im pretty sure they do accept NA credits. Just about any "for profit" will accept NA credits. To be sure, just ask NCU.

I have been enrolled and or accepted by NCU twice. I am a proud CCU grad and from my experiences with several of your online advertising for-profits, they will accept CCU or NA credits fro entry into their programs.

P.s. I went to CCU in person to drop off a lesson the other day, they have a lot of staff! The inside looks like a very nice law firm.
