Depends on what you mean by upper level. TESC has Sophomore level credit. So some of my classes for my two year degree were "upper level" in that sense.
You might need to check with TESC directly on this. OTOH, I remember a thread on this topic -- maybe some smart person will find it. I know that TESC considers anything beyond freshman level upper level. So if, for example, the CLEP lit analysis exam correlates to TESC's lit analysis class, which is 200-level, then it would be an upper level exam. Pretty sweet if it works.
Okay I looked it up to remind me and the 2005-2006 catalog says that these CLEP's are 200 level or above: Introductory Business Law Principles of Management Principles of Marketing Calculus Human Growth and Development Intro to Educational Psychology All the rest are 100 level. There are a slew of Dantes that are 200 level or above. You can check out the current catalog which is downloadable as a pdf from the website.
If by upper-level you mean 300 level classes, then the answer is yes. You are wrong. ---- Here are the exams that TESC gives upper level (300) credit for: CLEP Test: Principles of Management Credits awarded: 3, Passing score: 50 TESC equivalent class: MAN-301-CE CLEP Test: Principles of Marketing Credits awarded: 3, Passing score: 50 TESC equivalent class: MAR-301-CE If you are including 200 level classes as upper-level, in addition to Lauradglas's list, TESC also awards 200 level credit to the 'level 2' French, German, and Spanish language tests. Here's the complete list of 200 level credit awarded by TESC to CLEP exams: CLEP Test: French Language-Level 2 Credits awarded: 12, Passing score: 62 TESC equivalent classes: FRE-101/102-CE and FRE-201/202-CE CLEP Test: German Language-Level 2 Credits awarded: 12, Passing score: 63 TESC equivalent classes: GRM-101/102-CE and GRM-201/202-CE CLEP Test: Spanish Language-Level 2 Credits awarded: 12, Passing score: 66 TESC equivalent classes: SPA-101/102-CE and SPA-201/202-CE CLEP Test: Introductory Business Law Credits awarded: 3, Passing score: 50 TESC equivalent class: LAW-201-CE CLEP Test: Calculus Credits awarded: 3, Passing score: 50 TESC equivalent class: MAT-231-CE CLEP Test: Human Growth and Development Credits awarded: 3, Passing score: 50 TESC equivalent class: PSY-211-CE CLEP Test: Introduction to Educational Psychology Credits awarded: 3, Passing score: 50 TESC equivalent class: PSY-230-CE
