How hypocritical one side to call for civility and another
at first available opportunity jump and reticule a person for good advise..

Any way I do acknowledge that in prison there are different jobs, besides corrections officer and prison guard, there are nurses and doctors, psychologists and maintenance personnel.
I don't remember in the initial tread seeng the actual job title of the tread originator.

In most cases accredited degree required for the jobs and for some accredited high school. The propaganda as if director
allowed the usage of unaccredited degree is to mislead the readers that unaccredited degrees are some what useful.

Well maybe from schools that are candidate for accreditation.

So your hidden agenda to somehow try to add value to unaccredited degrees will not fly.
Instead of ridiculing Lerner and try to silence me why don't you
post links to states were they do accept unaccredited degrees for positions in prisons.
As a civilized man if I see that I made error I will acknowledge that.
My suggestion to the thread originator is to look only for accredited degree. As Ted and other persons recommended and accredited may be NA and RA.
Stay away from unaccredited with exception of RA candidate status.

As far as I know there may be states that allow RA Candidate for Accreditation school graduates to satisfy entry requirements.

    No, no, no, Lerner.

    You said

So I asked you to list the states that do accept unaccredited degrees for corrections officer positions. Can you list them or did you just state something without any validity?

I think his post is realistic and that most of my students are going for a non-acredited degree versus an accredited one because their employer is only interested in what they do with what they learn rather than the piece of paper itself.

If you are associated with the bogus and fake Sonata University (which I believe you are), then what you sell to your so called students [paying customer] is simply a bogus, worthless and shameful piece of paper that has no value, what so ever, other than perpetuating dishonesty, fraud, lies and deceit to potential employers, friends, family and the buyers themselves. Anything from Sonata University is nothing more than an eBay scam and printed pieces of worthless paper, fake transcript and bogus confirmation service -- start your bidding at $9.95, or "buy now" for $19.95… what a sorry joke.

The only reason that responsible employers might consider such bogus degrees and worthless pieces of paper is if they are deceived, tricked and do not know any better.

Learner, where is it mentioned that Tees67 works with or is interested in working at the department of corrections? NOWHERE! Therefore, you must have imagined it.

First, I did not hold you to ridicule. I simply stated a fact that should be obvious to anyone. Tees67 is not working as a corrections officer. He works for a non-profit organization. What does that have to do with the price of rice in China? NOTHING!

Yet, you have chosen to call me a hypocrite and you go as far as to accuse me that I have a hidden agenda to somehow champion unaccredited schools.

Let’s make one thing clear, I do not shill for unaccredited schools, sub-standard schools or degree mills. I don't have to. I earned my degrees and certificates at much more prestigious institutions of higher learning than the one you claimed. However, if someone wants to get an unaccredited degree the least I can do is make sure that the institution is at least legally licensed and warn them about the risks of getting an unaccredited degree.

    To Tees67:

Do yourself a favor and check with the Oregon Degree Authorization list so you can truly appreciate the risk of getting an unaccredited degree.

Thanks Jimmy. It feels good to be appreciated by such distinguished company.

I hope Tees appreciates your housecleaning

Jimmy and Miguel: Thank you for sorting things out on Tees' behalf. You are both real assets to degreeinfo and men of the highest caliber.
Jake and Tesch: Thanks for whacking the shill!
PLCScott: Your link to Lawrie Miller's site is very helpful. Thanks. I should have mentioned that in my earlier post.

Best wishes to all of you,
    Janko

Re: I hope Tees appreciates your housecleaning

Thanks, Uncle Janko. I don't think I help others that much but I appreciate your kind words.

Degree Info helped me when I decided it was time to earn accredited graduate degrees so I try to help as much as I can.

    Janko: "Whacking the shill"--Good one!

Miguel: "What does that have to do with the price of rice in China?"--Down South we always said "...price of beans in China."

Guess rice makes more sense. Makes me long for some red beans and rice with some cornbread!

I appreciate everyones contribution, good, bad or ugly! I can see this would be a very interesting place to spend some time. Let me just say one more time that I AM NOT interested in a diploma mill or a quick fix, just the fastest way to EARN my degree. Maybe I should just go back into retirement!

The suggestions given you seem to be the best ones available. It would be a good idea to at least check into them and see if they meet your requirements. Best of luck to you!

Uncle, as always your kind words honor me. Much obliged.

The feeling is mutual Reverend. :D

And don't forget the good looking. Also known as ME!!!

Please, don't do that. The world needs more people that are more interested in service than personal gain. You still have lots to offer humanity.

    Email from a friend.
I wander if they employ corrections officers, prison guards, social workers etc? - or maybe because they are non fprofit they don't need these professionals ;-)

So maybe the tread originator can tell us what is his area of responsibility or job in the non-profit prison system?

I know its easier to ridicule a person.

Miguelstefan do you know what is the job of the post originator?

Well if he is working in cafeteria maybe degree not needed somehow I think the job is different because he speciifiied he needs bachelors degree.

"Private prisons can't ignore public laws"

    Is this really the case?

Or there is mandatory oversight by the State Corrections Agency?
    This includes qualifications of employees.

Lerner - We all know that threads can sometimes wander a bit but this one has nothing to do with prisons or corrections. Please stay on topic.

Sorry, I admit my mistake, I misread the word position as prison
in the original post this is why I was concentrating in the prison and corrections jobs.

So yes I misread and imagined it was prison job.

    Sorry

And you still have not answered my question, however, which states accept unaccredited degrees for corrections officers?

Not on topic, Jack, but if he really does have this information, it will be good for us to know.
