I didn't know that at first, but now I do.

A post of Janko's in another thread in the off-topic area got deleted by me because it responded to a post of mine in said thread that I only intended to be a temporary post... one I was going to delete as soon as I got an answer to the question I posed therein. Actually, two or three posts which responded to the temporary post were deleted... as would make sence since once I deleted my temporary post, those posts would be responding to something no longer there. It was a harmless thing.

Apparently Janko felt that the post I deleted of his contained a sentence or two that applied to more than just my temporary post. If so, then somehow I missed that; and, if so, then I should have been more careful and just removed the part of his post that responded to my temporary post, and left the rest. If that's what should have happened, then clearly I goofed... and I apologize. It was a mistake, simple as that.

My stupid "it's-Christmas-so-can't-we-all-get-along" attitude which motivated my meddling in that thread in the first place turned-out to be misguided on my part, anyway. In retrospect, I should have just shut up and let everyone scratch each others' eyes out. Nothing says "Merry Christmas" like a good brawl over Christmas!

Janko and I have talked about it and it's clear that he didn't understand my rationale at first, but now he does... and he's fine with it. And, so, he'll soon be returning to the off-topic area, with bells on... if he hasn't already.

Oy.

I quit watching the news, and news type shows (dateline, etc..) years ago, way to depressing.
