Actually, it was all about you. That you can't see that is cool, but doesn't change the facts.

    Good luck in your search.

Do not assume, which is a fact that I think you are :), that I do not see things just because I do not AGREE with you. Rest assured, after spending two years reading this board every day, as opposed to typing most of the time, I am fully aware of most everyone's views on....well...about everything! Take care,

I guess it helps to argue both sides--you're bound to get it right half the time.

If you talk about earning a degree, expect someone to talk about the quality, legitimacy, and utility of the degrees under discussion. If not, why post here?

You brought up the idea of earning a degree. Bill Dayson deconstructed what you said. You'd do well to listen to him.

Try dealing with several languages and see what happens to spell check!

Trinity might be a good bet for you. If they do get RA status it's a huge cheap bonus. If they don't get RA their program looks like it will give you what you need.

Even if you are looking to do adjunct teaching your MS will be enough to get you a job. The PhD, even if from a non-RA, still will give you the Dr title at the school. You'll likely not garner a tenure track job with such a degree. Look at it like this. What are the chances of garnering a tenure track job anymore even with a low level RA degree from Meager State?

Dr. Douglas, In my original post I, I started by saying I understood the issues of RA and DETC. I even gave a short reason why I did not care about RA and DETC..... because I figured someone would ask if I did not. My purpose was to find out names of schools, I know a lot of them..some of them...I wanted to find out more. People feel compelled, which is fine, to give their views about my choices. I do not know outside of being rude how much clearer I could have been about what I was wanting. Not that it matters of course. Some people have the attitude that "everyone is entitlled to my opinion " even when I think most people would get the hint of what I was wanting and asking. Whether people respond with their views on the accreditation issue, when requested not to, is because of touch of arrogance, indifference towards the question, or a deep seeded love of all that is accredited,....I don't know...it could just be "what they do".
    Take care

I thought I should explain my goal, I suppose, career wise, is to run special education for my district, or a surrounding one. I will qualify to do that when I finish the district licensure program I am in at Wichita State. Then again, seriously, I may go back to teaching. I struggle every day with returning to what I loved versus what could potentially help more people. I have thought about starting a school when I retire, God lord willing, at the ripe age of 54 1/2. Who knows?
I did adjunct one class(well kinda I co-taught it with my best friend), received high marks on my communication but blasted for giving a test.....the had never had one in their MSL program....I think it was even easier than my program....kinda sad. Before anyone says anything, I know there are RA programs in education that give tests...just talking about what happened to me.

If you want unaccredited degree go here:

    BrianH:
If you're looking for an unaccredited degree to suit your purposes go to the following site:
    http://www.osac.state.or.us/oda/unaccredited.html
Read about what the ODA has to say and decide which unaccredited degree will meet your need.
Another site , if you're looking for an unaccredited degree is
    www.michigan.gov/documents/Non-accreditedSchools
While I do not promote unaccredited degrees if this what you really want you should be able to find it here.

Unaccredited, by itself, is not dispositive.

Actually, I DO promote certain unaccredited law schools and law degree programs. An important question (though not the ONLY question) the student should ask is, "Will THIS unaccredited degree meet my foreseable needs?"

Of course, the student must also satisfy himself that he is in a position to FORESEE his needs!
