Heavily moderated, but gave a voice to some bad schools. That might have been a good thing, however, because it gave others an opportunity to ask questions. But did it give instead an opportunity for those schools to deceive? Perhaps.

Lightly trafficked, it really didn't have a voice distinct from this forum, just smaller. (And it allowed some banned here to post there.)

A loss, but not a huge one. But it was certainly better than the other board that's still alive.

I always wondered where that woman was going. I suppose that now I'll never know.

    Hmmmm,

Interesting. It did offer a unique perspective which was nice and certainly a little more reasoned than "Jamesville". I never understood why he tried promoting a known degree mill like KWU so heavily. One longtime DL fan suggested he was a KWU graduate which he denied, but who knows?

I never saw it as a promotion of KWU but more of a means to expose them. No one at Degreeboard ever said hey you should get a degree there. Admittedly the interview wasn't as negative as it should have been, and many of the answers where round about, but i do believe the gentleman that was interviewed (the head of their PR group) has since been asked to live KWU. To me this signifies that maybe he didn't answer the way KWU wanted him to, or he finally saw the error of his ways.

    Who knows....

Of course, this is a matter of perception. Mine was that the board was extremely supportive and sympathetic of K-WU, giving it every voice possible to publicize its message. I think it is called "advertising."

    Hi Michael

I am unsure of the motivation on the anonymous owner's part but it came off very pro-KWU. I mean come on 5 classes and whamo a degree of your choosing?! It doesn't get much more degree mill than that!

Yes it does get more millish then that..There are always the wonderful institutions(I use that term in the loosest sense possible) that once you pay whamo a degree of your choosing!

I of course am not saying K-WU is not a mill it is a mill! and people should stay away!

You know, maybe I'm reading WAY too much into this (one of my faults) but it is interesting to me that onlinelearningdirectory went out of business just before the indictments and degreeboard is going out of business just after the indictments.
Just a coincidence? Maybe, but I don't have a strong belief in coincidences.

Yep but it doesn't get MUCH more degree mill than that. :)

My wife was born at the exact same global minute as another person. Different parts of the world, by far, but to the minute, day, month, year. She never met that other person until I introduced them. This was a "coincidence."

That other person, who shared the exact moment of birth within 60 seconds?

    My first fiancee.

give me a break, did you ever see any adds for KWU or ANY other messages that KWU is wonderful? NO you didn't. This interview came up as a result of KWU Vs. Oregon. And, the indcitments have nothing to do with the board being shut down.

It would be the greatest of coincidences if both or either one of them attended KW"U."

Ok, strike that. Well, maybe not; it's just a joke, after all.

Hehe. My wife attended Capilano College, UBC, and SFU. My first fiancee ... I have no clue. They both attended my wedding, however. My ex-fiancee was the maid-of-honor and her boyfriend of the time the best man.

Glad to hear the "w" resulting from that get-together was a wedding. If everyone involved had been in a different frame of mind it could have been a war. ;)

On coincidences: My brother and his wife were born several years apart but on the same date, same hour and minute, and in the same hospital.

I'm happy to say that I have no evidence that I'm right about the "coincidence." I wonder if you have any evidence that I'm wrong. My guess is that we're both guessing. Are you Robert J?
Did you have any official capacity with degreeboard? If the answer to these questions is "no" then you have no better a guess than I have.

Jack is very very suspiciously perceptive. Almost Balkanoid (Trakovski? Tresovic?).

Also, degreeboard served as an entryway for the horrible stuff at military whateverthehell. If one examined degreeboard's visit stats that was as big a raison d'etre as any. No guesswork needed.

    No loss. No loss whatever.

Uncle Janko, as usual you hit the nail right in the head.

I don't think I ever found a single piece of useful information there.

    Hi Michael

To me the interview came off as a promo piece because of the kid-glove approach given their PR person. Just my take on it. Also "Robert's" hidden identity increases suspicion in my opinion It very well could be coincidental, it just doesn't appear that way.
