I was wondering if anyone knew the status of taking protored exams at the education centers on military bases for dependents? I know I was once told they let the dependents take CLEP test there, but was unsure if they even supervised proctors at all, regardless of being active or a dependent.
I checked with our local library next door and they do not do them. They said I would have to go speak to UNM about finding a proctor? Anyone else have proctor suggestions?

I know the Education Center will proctor for schools that are on their approved list. I am 90% sure they will proctor for dependents as well. Best bet is to call the local education center for all the details.

Dependents can take tests at Education Centers overseas. Licensing considerations mean you have to go to the local test center in the U.S. with the authorization to administer the test, pay the administration fee, and take the test through them.

Yes. Dependents can take proctored exams at military bases. Being on the approved list most likely means that the school has to be either RA or NA, but I would be certain that that is a solid requirement. Call the Education Center to be sure.

Normally, what you have to do is contact your school and inform them that you want your tests sent to the proctor at your base's education center. The way I've seen this done is the school has a test proctor agreement or assignment for that the proctor has to sign and you return it to your school. The tests will be sent directly to the proctor, with whom you must arrange to take your tests.

I've been in the Army for nearly 19 years, and I know I've seen many dependents taking tests at education centers. (Either that, or I've seen many soldiers who need a shave, a hair cut, to loose some weight, and to remove their nose rings!)

I was specifically addressing administration of CLEPs. Sorry I wasn't clear. Of course they can take proctored tests, I've taken them myself.
