I have made the decision to enroll in the Touro MBA program, but I am interested in how its IACBE accreditation might be perceived by future employers. Obviously, AACSB would be the most desired way to go, but few DL institutions have such accreditation. Moreover, since Touro has such a great deal for the military, it is difficult to pass up.

What will I use the degree for? I plan to work in business management or HR.

    Thanks in advance.

IMO opinion the business accreditation is not that important... I would be more concerned about having a degree from a branch campus.

IMHO if you want to work on Wall Street or Sand Hill Road the school and accreditation makes a differenece. If you will be working for a company out in the hinterklands, less so.

Thanks for the comment. I'll be the first to admit that the wording on the diploma is a bit cheesy. But, other than that, what genuine academic concerns are there for the academic quality?

My take is that the three business accreditors stack up like this: AACSB is the gold standard and most likely the only one that employers have heard of (if any). ACBSP is the silver standard. Employers don't likely know it - but it proves the school has gone through an outside look at their business programs. Both AACSB and ACBSP are recognized by the feds. As I posted in another thread, IACBE is the newest kid on the block. All other things equal, I'd take an IACBE school over a RA, but non-professionally accredited school. However, I have some reservations about IACBE.

    Regards - Andy

DL MBA programs are pretty common so it really is a buyers market. The only differentiation I see with Touro is that they are free for some people. If you are actually paying tuition, why put up with a cheesy diploma?
