    Interesting...

After reading the last two sentences...I wondered what U of P must be thinking now. The "flexibility" statement is interesting as well. Does it suggest that U of P is not flexible?

Is U of P on the Title IV program requiring a full 16 week term?

    Does U of P have a PhD?

There is no requirment for a 14 week term

Lots of schools have 8 week terms and Touro has a 12 week term. All have title 4 funding. Some schools don't even have classes basically being independent study type institutions. NCU's excuses with the 14 week term thing don't ring true in that regard.

What you do have with title 4 is strict auditing requirements and completion rate standards. Since NCU likes people to pay in advance and many DL schools have low completion rates I would bet that is why they are out of the program....

    Conspiracy theories running amuck

NCU chose not to participate in Title IV funding due to the Title IV rules that require universities to have defined semesters. A defined semester is one that has a defined start date and a defined end date. It doesn't matter if a university chooses to have a 5 week, 8 week, 12 week, or 16 week term as long as the term starts on a given date and ends 5, 8, 12, or 16 weeks later.

Title IV rules take this flexibility away from NCU. NCU allows students to start a term on the first of each month (a defined start date) and allows students to end the term whenever they choose within a 16 weeks period (no defined end date).

I wouldn’t call the write up about Dr. Davis an endorsement of NCU by UofP.

It is, however, an endorsement of NCU by Dr. Davis.

    Don’t confuse the two.
