Hallo guys ! I did it! Oh yes… I got accepted into UNISA, at last. As I wrote some time ago, I had huge problems concerning my past School leaving and other stupid stuff that made everything ridiculously slow. After tons of email I finally got a positive answer from The Registrar and everything seems all right, now…. People in Spain would probably say: “fueron felices y comieron perdices”..but I’m not sure about that. Of course I’ve come to the big THANK YOU. Guys, I really appreciate what you did in order to advise me and I will keep jealously you’re “lessons” about University in general. It’s my first University after my High School Diploma and although I’ve chosen a distance-learning education I feel really in touch with students, thanks to you. I really want to thank you all, especially Jack Tracy for giving me strong advices about SA schools. Bye !! davide
Dag, Your post inspired me to transcribe the following: Translation translation: it's easier to get into UNISA than it is to get out (with a degree). Good luck!!! Cordially, Richard Kanarek
Congratulations, djjjfp! ....... on joining the hallowed ranks of UNISA PhD2Bs - or is it DLitt-et-DPhill2Bs or is it DMin2Bs or is it ........ ok, never mind! Or is it BA or BS or some other degree2B? You are a winner in any case! I know that you will do well. Carry on!
I should have asked this earlier... Hi Davide - Again, congratulations. It has been said on this forum and perhaps elsewhere that the UNISA application/enrollment process is difficult to understand and complete. Since you just completed this process successfully, would you please describe your experience with this process? Difficult? Easy? Long? Short? Please tell us your experience. Thanks, Jack
Guys!! Concerning the question of Jack about admission process I have to say that the whole thing is very simple if seen from an external point of view, but once you are involved things definitely change. As often Jack explains, you have to be specific in your mail and most of all you have to grab the reader’s attention. In fact, if you start like “I don’t know how it is, pls give more info” your answer will be enormously delayed. Go to the main point and flesh out as much as possible, in order to get the specific and precise answer to your problem, most of all concerning admission. In fact I had to write something like 20 emails once UNISA told me that my Diploma was rubbish. Solution: be persistent! Don’t give up! It is only a question of interpretation and what you have to do is to show that you want a piece of information in a polite, concise and clever way. Again, as always Jack teaches, write to the Dept. Head and they will automatically forward your post to the office in charge. If you want further assistance you can mail the good fellows of IACI-CANADA, that will help through registration. A drawback is of course distance; be patient! Study materials, communications and so on will take about 3 weeks to come into your house, therefore choose the E-mail option. Guys it’s a great experience that of course it is worthwhile. PS: Jake_A… I am brand new student… I don’t know what that Db2PhD means but if you want to know my study path I can tell you that I chose a general Badmin, and still puzzled about specialisation… will let you know ! Bye from Italy! dav
heyila SteveFoerster ! Right now I am enrolled in Tertiary English course, just for a kick off and then I will complete a Badmin. I am still concerned about specialisation extension... I'll see.. davide
