    Oops, I forgot....

Yeah, many suspected that´sthe reason why you come here. Well, if it makes you feel better, we´ll give a standup ovation to recognize your merit. Otherwise, you can keep on doing yourself like until now.

What do you think I am doing with you if not playing with your lesser intellect.....? :D

    Uh, yeah, right.

Stuff I liked on this thread: JoannP38's zinger, Abner's defence of Little Fauss, Ted's microeconomics, something Jimmy said but I forget what, and one or two other things which if I labeled them would totally mess up my tic about civility on the PolDisc forum. You know who you are.:p

    Uncle, uncle...(head wagging)

Did you enjoy bear baiting in a former life?

    Wow...

What a laugh, go back and read your theories again. You are way out of your league. Your response here just demonstrated that. Instead of defending your premise you resort to the ludicrous. Give me a break, again. I actually am starting to feel bad picking on you two......

    You need learning from somewhere...

You might as well get it from me for free. Most of the organizations we talk about on here want to charge you.

However, it does get tedious repeating the obvious to the simple minded over and over again. I do expect the bulb to come on in my pupils head with some expediency. Maybe I just expect too much of you. My bad......

Ouch, I must have hurt you real bad. Sorry.

Why do I have the feeling that someone in Durban is sighing in pure relief?? :D :D :D

    Weak, so weak....

I wait with bated breath for you to post some valid defense of your theory so hastily derived from a google search. Instead, more insults. Who cares, I have many, many real life friends so the opinion of some nameless person on this board is really of no account.

Especially one from you based on your baseless, bigoted opinions which have been amply displayed on this board in the past. I would, actually, be seriously insulted to be considered one of your friends. It was Conrad who said that a man can be judged by the quality of his enemies. In your case I am sitting pretty good.....

Ah! The voice of a true wise man, not just one trying to arrogantly convince everybody how wise he is. Truly refreshing.

    Check mate!

Abner, I am sure from now on he will think twice before demeaning other people´s intelligence, and qualifications, the only reason why I jumped in. Just for the good name of these fora, let´leave like it is. I am satisfied of the outcome anyway.

    Regards

And a side note to Chris to conclude.

You haven´t even read Conrad… First of all it was Gen. Don Piatt, and not Conrad, who actually said that “A man's greatness can be measured by his enemies”. But the most hilarious thing is that you don´t even understand that silly sentence (that you probably found in a fortune cookie of your local Oriental Swan Chinese Buffet or in the Digest Reader´s, your type of literature). The sentence in reality means that the greater your enemy the greater you are, you Bozo. You were actually flattering me by saying how good you were sitting….. How would you understand Stigler or corporate welfare if you cannot successfully deal with this infantile idea?

I wouldn´t bother to ridicule you if it wasn´t for your habit to abuse others. I would simply let it go or let others do the job but your habit to go personal or to resort to abuse pisses me off. Come on, Chris, get over yourself and try to play nice with the other kids. You´ll see how your life becomes less bitter and more enriching.

Now this is an interesting thread

The first topic above is the reason you find snake handlers in the areas of Appalachia. Actually, one can find this from Georgia to South Central NY State. The apostolic pentecostal "holy roller" religion comprimises most of this.

As for West Virginia, well, I can go on to other states I have lived (Currently Georgia) but let me enlighten those of my "native state" of West "By God" Virginia.

I noticed comments about "right wing" items on billboards, etc.
Right or Left wing does not even enter into WV politics. WV is, in it's own right, eccentric. The old term can be used best - "Good Ole' Boy, Yellow Dog Democrat"

Since it's enception on June 20, 1863, this state has never known a Republican majority. WV has always had to the present have a large veto proof Democrat majority, however, it has been a "family majority." Clean down to the present Gov. Manchin, the son of A. James.

All in all the politics have always been currupt, even to the Federal level with Rockefeller, who came down from NY in the 60's and used Dad's money to purchase controlling interest in the majority of coal operations to the long term Sen Byrd, or should I say Grand Cyclop's Byrd of the 1954 KKK.

I can go on and on, but would rather wait for comments.

To move on I have lived in many states in my 17 year career with my current company. I cannot list as good or bad but here goes.

WV - Native - Beauty of the Blue Ridge

    VA - Same

NJ - My favorite with the Shore, the diversity in food, and the native home of my wife.

IL - Great people. Chicago as a great "clean" city.

GA - Current. Love the beauty, the weather, and the cost of living .

My only dislikes are taxes in IL and NJ.
    Cliques in WV
Blue Bloods and 60 minute Christian hypocrites in GA and VA.

My dream is to have a small cottage in Central Vermont. Will that ever happen? I hope so, but my wife hates the cold.

Of course, good luck with that test. You must so close to finish all requirements.... It will be nice to see you here in the Netherlands ((but it´d be a lot more fun in Spain where la nuit provides ample opportunities for entertainment  ). Regards.

That should be, "Ain't got hardly no accent". The double negative is of paramount importance. ;)

One of the best lawyers I ever had the pleasure of working with came from, and was educated in, Kansas.

Don't let their wacko Board of Education fool you; there are plenty of smart folks in Kansas! (And in places the state is very beautiful, to boot.)

I felt like an ant walking across a pool table.

Visiting Kansas makes me understand why the pioneers called their covered wagons "prairie schooners". It's like the ocean out there. But in places it gets kind of rolling with a wavelength of miles and it's impressive in a way that's totally alien to Californians like me. And the sky sure is big, with thunderstorms moving slowly across it blasting everything below them with lightning.

As for smart folks, Lawrence certainly compares with Davis CA. Wichita has quietly become one of America's aerospace hotbeds.

What I like most about Kansas are the homey towns and the friendly people. Much more so than on the coasts.
