I can't tell if you're joking or serious? It's pretty funny either way.

If I remember correctly, his doctoral degree came out of UMass-Amherst. It would probably be easy enough to look it up.
By the way, heard anything recently about Bruschi? How's he doing?

Unfortunately not much information is available about Bruschi. After his injury he hired an agent, ceasing his practice of doing his own negotiating. I've heard that he has been seen working out with the team, but did not participate in the last mini camp. He's one of my favorite Patriots, so I sure hope he's going to be ok!

I am absolutely serious. Here is the listing in Dissertation Abstracts International:

Title: AN INTEGRATION OF THE VISUAL MEDIA VIA "FAT ALBERT AND THE COSBY KIDS" INTO THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CURRICULUM AS A TEACHING AID AND VEHICLE TO ACHIEVE INCREASED LEARNING.

    Author(s): COSBY, WILLIAM HENRY, JR.

    Degree: ED.D.

    Year: 1976

    Pages: 267

    Institution: UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS; 0118

    Source: DAI, 37, no. 09A, (1976): 5557

I read the dissertation several years ago. It was good.

    PatsFan,

Watch out for my Cowboys. They may just do something this year. Also, don't discount the Texans. This is their 4 th year and good things just might come their way. Back to the thread, I think that cartoons can be instrumental in providing a view of the public (or editors). I have one in my thesis. It is of a half build Golden Gate Bridge and a manager going up to the construction crew supervisor and asking "Where did everyone go?" His reply was, " They got transferred to the Federal Writers' Project". I thought it was funny. A copy of it is also in the book, The Dream and the Deal by Jerre Mangione. It is a great read for anyone interested.

Political cartoons have been making salient points in newspapers and magazines ever since there were newspapers and magazines. If I were doing a dissertation, I would not hesitate to either use the more advanced features of a good word processor, or use a desktop publishing program if that would allow me to do it more easily, to wrap a paragraph which makes a certain point around a left- or right-justified cartoon which either further drives home said point, or illustrates what detractors say about said point, or whatever. Obviously, it would have to be both relevant and not in violation of the overall tone of seriousness of the paper; but I would not hesitate to do it if it were appropriate to do so.
