Well, let's see here. I'm still working on finishing up my MA in Civil War Studies at American Military University for now. The Union Institute and University and American Military University are both on my short list for a PhD in History. Of course, since it is not at all sure which Union doctoral programs will survive the current changes and it is not at all sure when or even if AMU will get around to opening up their doctoral programs, I may end up doing a dissertation-only doc at one of the British system schools.

You know, Ted, every time you mention that, I get intrigued. It's difficult to think of a more important half-decade in the history of this nation. It interests me, terribly. I remember when the PBS civil war series first came out. I was absolutely glued to the TV set. For me, that was "must see" TV. In my travels -- mostly on the motorcycle -- over time, back when I was mostly living in the Midwest, I made it to most of the more famous battlefields. What an amazing event, the consequences of which are still felt, to this very day.

Are you enjoying that program as much as I'm hoping you are? And getting from it all that should be gotten from a program with such an intriguing name? If the answers are "yes" and "yes," then I'm envious!

I've re-enrolled at the University of the Free State. I'm still in the early stages of the process.

I agree. The Ken Burns PBS series "The Civil War" was a classic. BTW Thanks to Ted and a few other respected people, I'm looking forward to Civil War studies at AMU!

DesElms on a motorcycle? I just can't picture you on anything but a mo-ped ;). Seriously, though, what do you ride? I have a ZX-7 and a GSX-7, but I may get rid of the nicer and faster ZX for financial reasons.

So, I wonder how many of the "other" votes are enrolled at Capella, like me.

    One observation...

I notice a lot of NCU and Touro responses - which isn't surprising given the frequency these schools are mentioned in this NG. That's fine - but prospective students shouldn't be swayed by the numbers here - there are some good schools that don't happen to be well represented. Each student has to figure out what works for them.

    Regards - Andy

Agreed, I was a bit disappointed that Capella and Walden weren't included.
