    More thanks

rfvalve and nosborne48 - thank you both so much. I have a friend who left the airline last year and became a paralegal - she loves it. Regarding the real estate valuation and training, that's great info too.

And yes, so many seem to have MBA's now.

Well, I have a lot to check out today - after work!

    Thanks you guys!!

Just another thought, but paralegal is probably not a wise option for anyone looking for "freelance careers to train in" where they might immediately work from home after training.

The wife of a friend looked into paralegal training programs less than a year ago. She noticed that few programs, whether B & M or distance, offered placement assistance. The ones that did promised only "placement assistance working in a law office", but not placement as paralegals. Law firms demand experienced paralegals, most require a minimum of 3 years of previous in-office paralegal experience with 5 years to as much as 8 years preferred. Even the BLS Occupational Outlook Handbook states that "A growing number of experienced paralegals are expected to establish their own businesses." There's also something in there that states that trained and highly experienced paralegals have the best employment opportunites, and by that they were speaking of in-office employment rather than freelance. Considering the levels of experience they seek for in-office work, few lawyers are likely to take a chance on using a completely inexperienced graduate of a training program for any freelance work.

Better to stick to real estate agent, home appraiser, or possibly independent insurance agent.
