I've been trying to research as much as i can but the true way to really know is if you sign up for programs. I think there were some neg things said about FHSU.

The only negitive thing I've heard is the degree title and perhaps it doesn't have as much programing as other programs since it is networking centered. You can find out a ton of info by carefully digesting the web-site for each program. Then if it makes your short list you contact the school, ask for class syllabi (sp?). and so on. Do a google search on each program. Dig in! It's half the fun!

does the degree title really matter? and also, is programming a essential skill to have?

Good questions and ones I don't necessarilly have the answers to. I personally am rather critical about degree titles because often resumes only have a few seconds to make an impression. As to the importance of programming it would depend on where you are applying and what kind of job it is. Another program I would look at closely is Troy University's BS in CS. With the right CLEP tests it could be pretty quick to knock out.

    Irreligious,

I am a current Ensign in the Coast Guard Reserves who previously served 6 years active duty in the Navy. I am also a graduate of AIU. Unfortunately, as a business major I cannot give you first-hand knowledge of AIU's IT program. But, I can tell you that I enjoyed my experience at AIU. I thought the curriculum was good and the administration was professional and courteous. But, I really liked how fast I was able to earn my degree.

However, AIU's program is very expensive. You are likely going to have to take out a student loan even though you will be receiving the GI bill. It is important to decide what is more important to you before deciding. If getting a decent, accredited degree in the shortest time possible is most important, then AIU and CTU are both logical choices. However, if you do not want to shell out too much of your own money or take out student loans, then I advise looking elsewhere.

I hope this helps. I wish you the best of luck whatever you decide.
