Well, it takes energy to fight, even when the fight is in a good cause. President Bush won. A lot of us are probably trying to make the best of it.

I find that I do agree with the President about the need to adjust Social Security, and, frankly, the Democratic objections are ill founded.

Iraq just had an election. If we can extricate ourselves from the growing civil war, which I doubt, then the President will have minimized the damage and maximized the benefits of his unfortunate foray into naked aggression.

There is also reason for Democrats to look to 2006. Even so red a state as Colorado placed its entire state house in Democratic hands; I suspect that there we may be seeing the seeds of the next swing of the pendulum.

Also, the President has been SOUNDING more conciliatory lately, though I really don't believe him. He is now free of the Religious Right, whether Dr. Dobson wants to admit it or not, and perhaps we will see less religiosity and more thought in his utterances.

    One can always hope.

Bush is free of the religious right? My god man, Bush IS the religious right.

Your statement proves you know nothing about the religious right. Ask some of them what they think of Bush in the "religious" realm and you'll find some not so happy campers.
